[edit]From Proto-Germanic *hurnฤ , from Proto-Indo-European *แธฑer- (โhornโ). Cognate with Proto-Norse แบแแฑแพแจ (horna) (Old Norse horn), Old English horn, more distantly with Latin cornลซ, cervus, Proto-Slavic *korva.
