When students come to MIT, many of them feel like they’ve finally found their people.
Looking around the campus, it’s clear there is no single “MIT type.” Our students are a diverse, eccentric, bunch.
They originate from down the road and around the world — but they all love math and science, value hard work, and believe in humanity’s ability to solve even the hardest problems.
Our students draw inspiration from history, the arts, community service, sports, and travel. They read newspapers, comic books, textbooks, and the Internet. They run, they dance, they write, they experiment, they do it all.
And with that in mind, we’re always adding more heart and soul to our “mind and hand” philosophy, offering as many opportunities as we can for students to explore, discover, and grow.
