Hello everybody! My name is Bartolo Valastro, and I am a very famous baker. People call me Buddy. I was born
in New Jersey on the 3rd of March 1977. I am American but my family is from a very traditional Italian family I
live in Hoboken, New Jersey.
At the age of 17, my father died. My father’s first name was Bartolo too. Suddenly, I was the only son and now
I take on the responsibilities of my father. My family has run a bakery since 1964 and together we operate this
business. My mother Mary is very important to me. She is my number one fan. We are five children: myself
and my four older sisters Grace, Madeline, Mary and Lisa
We bake hundreds of elegant cakes for our clients. My favorite cake is double chocolate cake. Our cakes are
very popular in New York and people everywhere in the United States love our traditional recipes.
My wife is Lisa Valastro, and we have three children: Sofia (5), Buddy Jr. (4) and Marco (2). When I am not
working at the bakery, I love nothing more than spending time with the family. I also love to bowl and to dance
in my free time.
