Research Innovation
Rednesp Versão em português
The Rednesp (Research and Education Network at São Paulo), former ANSP Network, connects dozens of education and research institutions in the State of São Paulo, among them and abroad, through cooperation with international academic networks and consortia such as AmLight, RedCLARA and GNA-G.
Funded from the beginning by FAPESP, Rednesp is co-responsible for managing a 100G fiber optic ring between São Paulo, Miami (USA) and Santiago (Chile), but the network does not stop growing: in 2019, the capacity between São Paulo and Miami has already been increased by over 200G, as well as a direct link between Brazil and Africa was inaugurated in 2020.
Also in 2020, and aiming at the institutionalization of the project at FAPESP's initiative, the coordination of the Academic Network at São Paulo (ANSP) started to be carried out by an executive committee linked to the Council of Rectors of the State Universities of São Paulo (Cruesp), which was then renamed such as Rednesp (Research and Education Network at São Paulo).
