SPRINT – 3rd Edition 2015: Guideline CNRS

(Item 2.1.1. a, in www.fapesp.br/en/9592)

Specific requests for submission of proposals in partnership with researchers from CNRS

FAPESP and CNRS signed a Cooperation Agreement for Research on June 09, 2004, aiming to implement scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from the CNRS, France and from the State of São Paulo, Brazil, through the funding of joint research projects.

Under the referred Agreement, as continuation of this fruitful collaboration, FAPESP and CNRS make public this Call for Proposals for the exchange of faculty and postdoctoral researchers, under the terms and conditions of the SPRINT 3rd Edition 2015 (www.fapesp.br/en/9592) and hereinafter set forth.

1. Eligibility from CNRS side

1.1 Eligibility to submit proposals within the scope of this Call:

Principal and Co-Principal Investigators involved in the project;

1.2 Eligibility for the exchange activities within the scope of this Call

The proposals must aim to respect the principle of reciprocity with regard to academic qualifications of those who will take part in the exchange activities.

2. Fields of knowledge

This Call for Proposals invites research proposals in all fields of knowledge.

3. Duration of the project for the exchange of researchers

The maximum duration of each project is up to 24 months.

4. Funding principles

FAPESP will provide funding of up to the equivalent of € 4.000 (four thousand euros) per proposal per year and CNRS will provide funding of up to € 4.000 (four thousand euros) per proposal per year, for the duration of the grant to cover research-related mobility expenses, under the provisions of Clause 5 of the Scientific Cooperation Agreement established by the Parties (www.fapesp.br/en/5407).

5. Proposal characteristics for CNRS researchers

The proposal, in English or French, consists of an identical research project to be submitted to both Parties and the required documentation for each Party (FAPESP and CNRS), under the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth. The exchange activities to be carried out by the researchers and postdoctoral fellows from São Paulo must be thematically related to the ongoing research project funded by FAPESP.

The CNRS proposal must include the following items:

a) Research Proposal Form;

b) Researchers Registration Form to be filled in by the PI;

c) Budget forms.

6. Submission of proposals to CNRS

Submissions to CNRS can only be accepted on line: www.cooperation.cnrs.fr.

7. Result of the analysis

Final results will be announced on FAPESP (www.fapesp.br) and sent by regular mail for the CNRS and by means of a communication to the interested PIs.
