🌟 UNESCO Roundtable at the WorldSkills Conference 2024 🌟 During the #UNESCO Global Skills Academy Session at the WorldSkills International Conference 2024, I had the honor of presenting Microsoft initiatives in #education and #skills development. 🌟 Training Future Generations in the AI Age 🌟 We have entered the age of AI, which brings significant changes to the skills required for employability. According to the 📊 Microsoft "Work Trend Index" Study, 66% of employers say they wouldn't hire someone without AI skills. This is not limited to technical professions. A wide variety of professions, including creative and business roles, are acquiring AI skills. 🎓 How Microsoft supports this: For Students: through e-learning, we have created thousands of pieces of content, accessible for free on Microsoft Learn and LinkedIn Learning. For example, the "Career Essentials in Generative AI" module helps understand the basics of generative AI in 5 hours and validates these skills with a badge. In France, we have key partnerships with higher education institutions using those contents to train students and provide them with specific expertise in our technologies, recognized in the market. For Young People without Diplomas: In France, we created a school with the social enterprise Simplon, which trains AI developers through apprenticeships. Since then, this school has trained over 1300 people with a positive exit rate of 98%. For Youth: we use Minecraft extensively as an educational tool. Minecraft allows learning to code while having fun and also enables group projects, developing soft skills like teamwork and project management. 🏫 Supporting Schools and Teachers: To succeed in this "Future-Ready Skills" challenge, we need to involve and empower teachers. We provide schools and teachers with learning tools that use AI to create more personalized, effective, and accessible learning. For example, the free learning accelerators, like Reading Coach, which corrects students in their reading and offers exercises tailored to their difficulties. Additionally, we have our generative AI service #Copilot. We have also created a wealth of content to help educators train themselves in new technologies and their educational uses. We encourage the sharing of best practices and use cases in our Microsoft Innovative Educators community. By fostering collaboration and innovation, we can ensure that future generations are ready to thrive in an AI-driven world.
