Third Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution (3GPP LTE) is leading the pack towards forming the next-generation of mobile network standards. An Adaptive Antenna System (AAS) has been deployed at the receiver module to reduce the fading effects signal caused by proposed Stanford University Interim (SUI) Channel Models. AAS uses beamforming technique to focus the wireless beam between the base station and the subscriber station. The Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm is used at the receiver to direct the main beam towards the desired LOS signal and nulls to the multipath signals. It has been proved through this thought by MATLAB simulations that the performance of the system important improves by AAS, where beamforming is implemented in the direction of desired user. The performance of the system can more improve by increasing the number of antennas at receiver.

The characteristics of millimeter-wave (mmWave) multipath propagation based on the parameters of ... more The characteristics of millimeter-wave (mmWave) multipath propagation based on the parameters of path loss, delay spread and received power has been presented in this paper. The performance of different mmWave bands at 28, 39, 60 and 73 GHz for indoor communication has been included in this investigation and for both Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) scenarios. The effects of different building materials, frequency sensitivity materials and multi-floor indoor communications were the main considerations in this work. Such consideration has been carried out based on the calculation of each material parameters represented by relative permittivity and conductivity which obtained via software designed and clarified in this work. The results obtained from Wireless InSite software indicates that there is an inverse relationship between the separation distance and both the delay spread and received power. In contrast, path loss increase with increasing the separation distance due to many reasons related to antennas directionality and properties. Furthermore, Results obtained from multi-floor mmWave communication indicate that by using lower frequencies of 28 and 39 GHz, multi-floor effects on the investigated parameters have reduced the received power and increased the path losses to approximately its double values. Resulting in a valuable consideration for performing such deployment. While for 60 and 73 GHz, it shows ineffectiveness to be utilized for such communication.

This paper deals with this problem in order to mitigate the impact of mutual coupling by proposing four elements MIMO prototype each one having a dual polarized patch rectangular microstrips. The idea is to insert annular rectangular opened one ribs in front of each microstrip and in corresponding to circular ring slot etched has etched in the ground. The advantage of such slot is to obtain regular radiation pattern distributed around device body. The four elements with eight ports are incorporated on 67×139 mm2 PCB with FR-4 dielectric layer. The single antenna is simulated CST.STUDIO 2019 resulting an operated frequency of 6.23 GHz with a band of 850 MHz (5.81-6.66) GHz at -10 dB. The fabrication MIMO system prototype is tested to show its measurement results which are match the simulated results. All results confirm of that proposed MIMO prototype which is o...

In this field, the most important techniques used for such environment, are RSS and ToA which need to be improved especially from more interference because of the huge multipath problems. To implement an outdoor communication network, which can satisfy the coverage requirement of signal propagation, an optimal design has been proposed using the Wireless InSite (WI) program. Comparison of measurements derived in the same outdoor environment but at different frequency bands including 28 and 73 GHz, which they related to 5G technique. The obtained results are compared according to other models with different bands including 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for S- and C-bands, respectively. These ranges of frequencies are quite important for the development of channel models in a specific area. That means the points that achieved the highest received power, highest average signal quality (ASQ) and average received power (ARP) for each ...

As a contribution, the propagation of millimeter-wave (mm-wave) at different frequencies including 28, 39, 60 and 73 GHz has been studied in this paper. Wireless InSite program has been used to form a deterministic model for outdoor propagation in a specific campus according to the real geometric dimensions. The appropriate location has been identified for the transmitter that has a directional antenna. The surround receivers have been divided and distributed into two groups; the first located in a place without any barriers between them and the transmitter called LOS (Line-of-Sight). In contrast, the second group of the receivers is located in front of barriers that causing multiple reflections which called NLOS (Non-...

The main challenge of SM is high Bit Error Rate (BER) at low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), which leads to increase the power expended. In this paper, the performance of MIMO system for Space Time Block Code (STBC) and SM has been investigated.
