Understanding whether such a building has acceptable comfort conditions, adequate division of its internal spaces, efficiency of functionality, can be possible by consulting its own users/employees, analyzing and considering one of the basic concepts for architectural spatial design: people and environments are inseparable and cannot be thought out separately. Therefore, the purpose of this case study is to analyze the perception of users and managers of three USP (Unidades de Saúde Públicas) (Public Health Units), built in the LSF (Light Steel Framing) system, in relation to the built environment and thus contribute to a reflection on health care architecture based on identified gaps. These Public Health Units in LSF are located in 3 (three) different cities in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, in the southeastern region of Brazil. To this end, the development of the work is carried out through on-site interviews with users and managers. The answers of the questionnaires are analyzed with the help of the software SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), version 19.0. The results show that the buildings present project inadequacies related to the performance of self-supporting closures, extensive to the presence of cracks and infiltrations and to some aspects related to environmental comfort. However, the hospital architecture produced with the LSF can allow flexibility, modifications and probably possible solutions to these issues.

When considering the school space in relationship with the user, the environment is even more important, since it may reflect fully on the learning process. This article evaluates the thermal comfort perceptions of classroom users of the Federal University of Ouro Preto, specifically the School of Mining, the Institute of Physical and Biological Sciences and the Building Block of Classrooms. The research is conducted through questionnaires and measurements of environmental variables in loco simultaneously in the three areas throughout the months of June, July and September 2011. The results were statistically analyzed using the calculation of the standard deviation from the mean operative temperature and humidity to give comfort zone. Approximately 75% of the users were satisfied with the thermal environment.

An inappropriate selection of these systems can result in the need for further interference and resistance against the adoption of steel-structured construction. In the Brazilian market, there are several industrial closure systems, which, being lighter, have questionable heat and sound insulation. It is important to research closure materials that present integrated thermal and acoustic performance solutions.

Thus, the cooling of the mold becomes a relevant factor in the process of continuous casting. The thermal resistance in the mold-metal interface influences the heat transfer in the mold substantially. This interfacial thermal resistance increases with the increase of the thickness of the film of the melt, during the casting process. This resistance is a result of a combined flow of convection and radiation. In the external mold surface is important the control of the cooling water flow, because, a not uniform heat transfer in metallic mold affects the production process and the quality of the final product. This work analyzes the effect of the water-cooling flow in temperature profile of continuous casting mold. With the results it's possible to control the cooling water flow to obtain improvement in the superficial quality during the continuou...

In this scenario, the laws relate to the protection of cultural property to materialize through of the Union’s regulations, the states and municipalities concern of society, public authorities and institutions dealing with issues relating to the preservation and intervention to the cultural heritage, the use of public enforcement agents, research on responsibility for urban and environmental crimes, as well as urban management tools. It is proposed in this study present a brief urban legislative history of the City of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, and demonstrate how existing urban laws relate to the issue of protection of cultural heritage. As a result, it is observed that the existence of urban laws in interaction with heritage issues is not always enough to promote effective protection and safeguard, given that no political interest laws are restricted to simple speeches.
