Sourav Mahanta
Sourav Mahanta (Sourave Jyoti Mahanta), Son of Mr.Gopal Ch. Mahanta and Smt. Dulari Mahanta of Guwahati, Assam. A graduate in Education(Hon's) and holds 1st Class in Master of Communication and Journalism (MCJ) from at Dept. of Mass Communication and Journalism, Gauhati University. Presently doing research work on vanishing folk performing arts of Assam as mass media, being a research Scholar of the Dept. Mass Communication under Gauhati University.
Apart from the general educational qualification, Sourav has completed the five years diploma (Visharad) degree both in Hindustani Vocal Music and Instrumental (Tabla) from Bhatakhande Sangeet Vidyapith, Lakhnow. also the five years Visharad in traditional instrument (Khol) under Asom Sattra Mahasabha, Jorhat. Adding on Hindustani and Assamese folk music he also learned Western Classical theory and Playing Guitar/ Piano at Shillong School of Music under Trinity Guide Hall, London.
Sourav broadcasts Assamese Modern Songs regularly being a Graded vocal artist of A.I.R (All India Radio)
At present, by hobby and profession Sourav is doing music production, composing and arrangements for different feature films, TV serials, and audio album.
