Prerequisites

  • I have written a descriptive issue title.
  • I have searched all issues to ensure it has not already been reported.

Summary

Please re-add a download for the VISX file on https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ms-vscode.PowerShell and the Github Repo.

Proposed Design

The link to download the .VISX file was on the https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ms-vscode.PowerShell site but now it isn't.

.VSIX files should be built with every github commit and attached to every release, I think we can probably add something to the Readme with a link to the latest release.

In the meantime here is a link to the latest (as of this posting) unsigned VSIX of main
https://github.com/PowerShell/vscode-powershell/actions/runs/14095133779

And the latest signed release vsix:

I just noted that the vsix name in the release is different, so we'd have to update the readme every time, there isn't really a way to link that without updating the README each time, so that probably is a wontfix I'm afraid. You could make a script to grab the latest release VSIX however from github
