Hi

I my experience it would add great value for not much work, to add 1 more column to the hits/visitors type of reports:

%up column

it is defined as sum of % up to that point in the report
you can see the % for each line of the for how much a particular metric is of total
but to see much % all combined lines up to that point constitute, would help with recognizing the cutoff line of importance (along with the % itself)

example -
I would know that top 15 urls in the report constitute 90% of all traffic to the site
or
I would know that top 5 browsers constitute only 60% of traffic
I would know that my top 10 static files are 45% of all static file requests to my site

you could apply a similar logic to upBW (combined bandwidth)

this is most useful for reports with more than 20 entries, where it is not easy to do the math in your head

great tool by the way !

Not sure I follow. Could you please elaborate on how to get this metric? Would this be a percentage change in metrics when comparing date ranges?

sure.

when you print a report (e.g for uris, or 404, or hosts)
you order the output by either #hits or #visitors for each entry ( e.g. )
so the report output is ordered top to bottom

each line of the report also contains a column %, which is defined as x/total.

I would like to add 1 more column %up (cumulative %), which is defined as (sum of all lines above this line in the report + x)/total
this helps to determine the cumulative % for lines up to certain line and with larger reports, it can help to determine e.g that top X lines constitute 75% of errors

in the screenshot you can see that top 14 URIs make up 60% of all traffic to a site

adding an order # to each line of the report would also help

I think this is important, to determine for a cut off line, when addressing issues and you need to deal with say 75% of the issues.

please let me know if this is clear enough

again, great tool !

Thanks for the additional info. I can certainly look into this. I may need to add a command line option for additional metrics.
