This thesis is an attempt to analyse the Emerging Church Movement from the perspective of Orthodox Christianity, with the hope of identifying and responding to the various doctrines that form the core of the Emerging identity.

From 1931 until 2016, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia made several attempts at esta... more From 1931 until 2016, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia made several attempts at establishing a missionary presence in India, initially at the behest of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, who sought union with them and the wider Orthodox Church.
Using archival and biographical sources, this paper provides a broad overview of the different phases of the missionary work, the personalities involved, and the varying approaches of the ROCOR Synod.
