It is written on parchment and is profusely decorated with gold initials and text illustrations. The production of the Miscellany, namely the distribution of labor between text and decoration was a close collaboration between scribe, and artist, guided by a spiritual guide. A thorough examination of the decoration of the Miscellany and the corpus of works attributed to the Venetian artist Leonardo Bellini suggests that the Miscellany was produced in his workshop and that he was responsible for planning and executing a large part of the decoration.
