A brief summary of my profile is below,
• Highly self-motivated and innovative researcher with demonstrated research expertise in fiber optic sensing.
• Developed several novel sensors for monitoring humidity, temperature, strain, breath rate, ammonia, dew etc.
• Excellent experimental skills in fabrication of various optical fiber structures, preparation and deposition of coating materials on fiber, optimization of sensor system, etc.
• Developed sensors for extreme harsh environments
• Good experience of laser based additive manufacturing or 3D printing.
• Developed novel methods for embedding optical fiber sensors in metallic structures with potential applications in jet engines and energy industry
• Achieved optical fiber pre-compression for sensors directly embedded in metals this allows for strain monitoring even at extreme high temperatures
• Rich experience of Matlab based theoretical modelling of metal embedded FBG response to temperature and strain variations and for its experimental verification
• Good experience of managing a European union project by completing its deliverables and reports in a timely manner and by participating in its face to face review meetings
• Good experience of research laboratory facility management by taking active role in repairing or correcting faults in equipments, maintaining consumables in the lab, etc.
• Rich experience in the acquisition and signal analysis of the sensor data using the LabVIEW software for in-vivo applications.
• Good knowledge of sensor testing and documentation practices
• More than 40 research publications with h-index score of 12 (google scholar)
• Approved tutor at Heriot-Watt university, United kingdom
• Good pedagogical skills and teaching experience
• PhD Supervision: Developed skills and experience of PhD student supervision by carrying out regular discussions with PhD student at Heriot-Watt university and supporting their PhD work.
• A patent application is in progress with me as lead inventor.
• Ten years of experience in carrying out research work within different small teams of researchers in the area of optical fibre sensing and signal processing.
• Proven ability of planning and managing a programme of research on a day-to-day basis, with regard to the funding body reporting requirements and deadlines, and association with external partners.
• Good experience of problem solving and decision making in research.
• Designed and developed different working optical systems.
Currently I am carrying out remaining duties of the OXIGEN project such as Demonstrator activity (Integrating optical fibre sensors into GE’s turbine component and testing).
