In order to study effect of salicylic acid foliar application and limited irrigation on quantitative and qualitative characteristics of wheat, this experiment was conducted at Varamin, Iran during 2014 growing season. The experimental design was laid out in a randomized complete block with a split plots arrangement of treatments in three replications. Main plots included four different levels of irrigation (complete irrigation, irrigation withholding at stem elongation stage, irrigation withholding at flowering stage and irrigation withholding at seed filling period stage) and different concentration of foliar application of salicylic acid (0, 150 and 300 ?M) were allocated to subplots. The results showed that irrigation withholding conditions in different growth stages significantly decreased see...

It was conducted in factorial randomized complete design with three replications in Tarbiat modares University, during 2013-14. Pigweed seeds were subjected to three magnetic field levels created by magnets with 4000G, 5000G and 6000G for exposure times of 5, 35 and 65 minutes followed by which the seeds were placed in petri dishes and transferred on germinator. The germination characteristics, germination percentage, time to 50% germination, germination evenness and the rate of germination were recorded .The sprouts were bisected in four-leaf stage and they were evaluated in their morphologic characteristics and the amount of protein and â-amylase enzymatic activity. Results indicated that the mutual effect of the magnetic field exposure duration and intensity was found significant on all the examined traits in pigweed. The highest ...

Experiment was conducted as a randomized complete block design arrangement in split plot with three replications. Three irrigation regimes (without water deficit stress, water deficit stress at vegetative stage and water deficit stress at reproductive stage) were randomized to the main plots and combinations of foliar nano-iron and nano-manganese application as were randomized to the sub plots. Statistical analysis showed that irrigation and spraying regimes and their interactions had significant effect on most of the measured traits. Water deficit stress significantly reduced yield and yield components of RGS canola variety. The most reduction was observed in plants under water deficit condition at reproductive stage. Use of micronutrients increased canola grain yi...

A split plot factorial experiment was conducted in Qazvin (Iran) to determine the effects of water deficit stress on three Brassica species at different growing stages and application of zeolite in 2010-12 growing seasons. In these experiments factorial combination of different levels of water deficit stress (regular irrigation (I0), with holding irrigation from flowering stage to end of plant life cycle (I1), and with holding irrigation from pod stage to end of plant life cycle (I2) and zeolite were applied (0 and 10 t.ha-1), in main plot units, and different species (B. napus, B. rapa and B. junceu) were placed in sub plot units. Results showed that interactions among water deficit stress and different species, different water deficit stress and two zeolite amounts were significant for number of branches per plant, length of main, sub and total plant pod, and seed oil yield. Application of zeo...

Drought stress induced by irrigation withholding until 40, 80 and 120 mm evaporation from evaporation pan. However seed bacterization of soybean was accompanied with 20 kg ha−1 nitrogen. In addition, 20 and 100 kg ha−1 nitrogen were considered as control treatments. The results showed that drought stress significantly decreased cytokinin, gibberellin and auxin accumulation in plant tissues. By contrast, drought stress led to increase in abscisic acid accumulation in soybean plants. Polyamines that are putrescine and spermidine increased due to drought stress and then decreased unde...
