Since the late 90's IP telephony, commonly referred to as Voice over IP (VoIP), has been presente... more Since the late 90's IP telephony, commonly referred to as Voice over IP (VoIP), has been presented as a revolution on communications enabling the possibility to converge historically separated voice and data networks, reducing costs, and integrating voice, data and video on applications. This paper presents a study over the standard VoIP protocols H.323, session initiation protocol (SIP), media gateway control protocol (MGCP), and H.248/Megaco. Given the fact that H.323 and SIP are more widespread than the others, we focus our study on them. For each of these protocols we describe and discuss its main capabilities, architecture, stack protocol, and characteristics. We also briefly point their technical limitations. Furthermore, we present the advanced multimedia system (AMS) project, a new system that aims to operate on Next Generation Networks (NGN) taking the advantage of its features, and it is viewed as the successor to H.323 and SIP.

Twelve dairy cows (3/4 Hoslten x 1/4 Gir) were used in a desing in Latin square, at Fazenda Rapos... more Twelve dairy cows (3/4 Hoslten x 1/4 Gir) were used in a desing in Latin square, at Fazenda Raposo's dependences in Nepomuceno, MG, between November of 2001 and April of 2002 to compare the effect of the partial and total substitution of soybean meal for starea in the production and composition of milk. The medium weight of the animals was 443 kg and they were in the fourth nursing. The starea substituted soybean meal in the following proportions: 0 - 0% of starea 150 S; 33 - 33¨% of starea 150 S; 66 - 66% of starea 150 S and 100 - 100% of starea 150 S, and every treatments were isoenergetics and isoproteics. Sugar-cane (Saccharum officinarum L.) was used ad libitum as roughage. Each experimental period had the duration of 15 days being 9 days for adaptation and 6 days for collection of data. The milk production of each cow was weighed twice a day (morning and afternoon) and samples were sent for analysis of fat, protein, lactose, total solids and urea, by the infrared method, at the Clinic of the Milk of the Department of Animal Production at ESALQ/USP, in Piracicaba, SP. Fat and total solids of milk were not influenced by the treatments. The production of milk, protein, lactose and urea content of milk differed among the treatments (P<0.05). The results showed that it is viable the total substitution of soybean meal for starea.
In 2005, Goiás state was the greater tomato producer in Brazil. To improve the harvest and to kee... more In 2005, Goiás state was the greater tomato producer in Brazil. To improve the harvest and to keep the tomato disease under control, the tomato producer makes use of a technological packing kit with systematic application of many chemical substances. The major purpose of this thesis is to describe the daily conditions that the tomato plantation workers are subordinated in Goiás State. The research was obtained through systematic sampling directly in the tomato plantation in a period range from December 2004 to October 2005 in six selected cities: Bonfinópolis, Corumbá de Goiás, Goianápolis, Leopoldo de Bulhoes, Perenópolis, and Silvânia. The data were collected from interview, questionnaire to be answered by the workers that manipulate pesticides, and making register of the facts observed during visitation in the tillage. From the data analysis it is possible to conclude that the tomato tillage workers are exposed for long period of time to the pesticides and they are not prepared to manipulate this kind of chemical substances.
