Mehmet Demirel 1961 doğumlu olup, çalışma hayatına 1985 yılında Sağlık Bakanlığında pratisyen hekim olarak başlamıştır. 1991 – 2011 yıllarında İzmir Çiğli AOSB SSK Dispanserinde çalışmıştır. 1992 yılından beri işyeri hekimliği yapmaktadır. 1996 – 1999 yıllarında Ege Tıp Fakültesinde Tıbbi Etik doktorası yapmıştır. 2014 – 2020 yıllarında İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde Tıp Tarihi ve Tıbbi Etik dersleri vermiştir. Çiğli AOSB’nde çok sayıda firmada işyeri hekimliği yapmıştır ve halen hem bireysel olarak hem de OSGB bünyelerinde işyeri hekimliğine devam etmektedir. Evli ve iki çocuk babasıdır. The number of the English travel books, which have been evaluated, are a hundred and thirty. The medical data to be revealed in these books has been examined, criticized and evaluated under the following topics: The plague and cholera diseases and attacks in the Ottoman Empire in the XIX. century, the problem of foreign doctors, the dirtiness and untidiness of the streets of the Ottoman cities and the threat of the street dog, which have no owner, to the health of the public, the good health conditions of the public baths, the opium addicition and the application of quarantina against contagious diseases.
