Influence of the vaneless region design geometry on the compressor performance and wide of stable... more Influence of the vaneless region design geometry on the compressor performance and wide of stable operation have been experientially investigated. Two main geometries of the vaneless region design were investigated. The first design geometry is the clearance between the rotor exit and diffuser vanes inlet. This clearance was changed from minimum to maximum in five steps as C = 0.02, 0.1, 0.18, 0.26 and 0.34 relative to the distance between the rotor exit and the main diffuser vane inlet (original one). The second design geometry is considered by installing small vanes at the vaneless region between the rotor exit and the main diffuser vane inlet with different lengths and circumferential positions. The small vanes lengths were changed as, S = 0.9, 0.75, 0.5 and 0.25 relative to the clearance between the rotor exit and diffuser vane inlet. The circumferential positions of these small vanes were changed from the extension of the main diffuser vanes to 0.25 near pressure side of the main diffuser vanes to the middle or 0.5 of the diffuser channel and to 0.25 near suction side of the main diffuser vanes. The effects of all parameters on the limit of stable operation due to stall and surge at reduced flow conditions as well as on the compressor pressure coefficient were demonstrated. The pressure distributions at one of the diffuser passages at its inlet and exit were obtained. Simultaneously with the above conventional measurements, two pressure transducers with high sensitivity response were installed at the inlet and the exit of the diffuser to measure the time variation of static pressure. The data were processed using the Fast Fourier Transformation analysis (FFT) to estimate the Power Spectrum Density (PSD) for detecting the initiation of rotating stall and surge. The results show 13% improvements in stable flow range with clearance ratio of 0.18 and 5% in pressure coefficient and efficiency. Installing small vanes at 0.25 from the main diffuser vane pressure side gives about 36% improvement in stable flow range relative to the diffuser without small vanes. Comparisons between the experimental results and the available previous experimental and theoretical work show acceptable agreements.

This formula is able to include the finite size, interatomic interaction effects, and the role of dimensionality simultaneously. Condensed fraction, and average energy per particle for a condensed 87Rb gas in anisotropic trap in 3D and 2D are calculated. The results for the above mentioned thermodynamic quantities show good agreement with the measured experimental results. Furthermore, full agreement is obtained with the other method used to calculate the same quantities.

Each line consisted of 100 unvaccinated chicks represented both sexes equally in five replicates in a caging house system. Feed and water were provided ad libitum. Serum samples were collected at 3, 7, 10 and 14 days of age for ND titration. Spleen and bursa weight were evaluated at 14 days of age. The results indicated comparable ND antibody levels between all lines at 3 days of age. Cross lines chicks showed significantly low ND antibody level by 7, 10 and 14 days of age compared to local lines. Sex of the birds did not participate as a major factor that affect ND antibody level or glands weight. Bursa weight did not affected by genetic line while spleen weight demonstrated trivial change due to...

Department of Animal Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University. The experiments were extended from September 1999 to May 2003 using Fayoumi chickens from generation two selected parents till generation four ’as an extent to the master thesis 1997 till 1999 generations one and two’. *At hatching day all chicks were removed from the hatcher and wing- banded, placed in floor pens with wood shaving litter ,the chicks were exposed to 33˚c during the first 3 days , and then the temperature reduced gradually by 0.3˚c per day to reach 20-22˚c at almost 42 days of age . *From the beginning in 1997, chickens were bidirectionally selected from “Fayoumi” base population (generation G0 n=780) for 4 generations. An F2 population was produced by mating G0 highly inbred (<99%) males of two MHC-congenic Fayoumi lines with highly inbred Leghorn hens. The F2 hens (n = 158) were injected twice with SRBC and whole, fixed Brucella abortus (BA). Blood samples were obtained before each immunization, at 7 d after primary immunization, and at several time points after secondary immunization. Minimum titers (Ymin) and the time needed to reach them (Tmin), and maximum (Ymax) titers and the time needed to reach them (Tmax), were estimated from the seven post-secondary immunization titers using a nonlinear regression model. The F2 hens were genotyped for the four candidate genes by us...

Chicks of the current study were produced using 32 week old three parent groups of local Saudi chickens which had been sorted in a previous experiment into high (H) , low (L) and a random control group (C) according to their primary antibody response at 7d post im injection with 1ml of 15% SRBC. Parents were vaccinated late at 31 weeks of age against ND and secondarily exposed to SRBC antigen at 32 wk of age. Three hatches from each group were obtained. Half of each hatch was vaccinated at 3 days of age with ND vaccine (HB1) and SRBC. The other half was left without any vaccination. Antibody titer for all chicks against ND and SRBC were evaluated at 6, 9, and 12 days of age. Body weights were recorded weekly and weight gain then calculated. The L group chick body weight, and weight gain, w...

The evaluation criterion was antibody titer at 7d postprimary im injection with 1ml of 15% SRBC. According to the evaluation two separate groups composed, high (H) and low (L) each 150 chicken. In addition, a random control group (C) considered. At 32 weeks of age secondary immune response to SRBC, and Newcastle disease (ND) were evaluated. Body weight, Egg production, and egg weight were recorded for 3 weeks. The H group harvested significant (P< 0.05) higher secondary antibody response against SRBC over the L group at all measuring points and at the first three measuring points for ND antigen too. Weight gain, growth rate, and egg production of L group were significantly (P< 0.05) higher than H group. Through the research work the positive correlated trend between both antigens has been observed. The study emphasized the concept of allocation of ...

So, Fayoumi chickens were divergently selected for high (H) and low (L) antibody titer against sheep red blood cells (SRBC) at 7 days post primary immunization for three generations. Control line was also maintaind .Body weight at sexual maturity, egg production during the first 90 days of egg production , and egg shell thickness were measured. Primary antibody level against SRBC changed significantly over the course of selection . The divergence of selected lines became larger after the two successive generation of selection. After three generations primary antibody titer against SRBC at 7 days post immunization were 6.215 for H line versus 5.93 and 6.11 for L and control lines, respectively. Delayed type hypersensitivity response (DTH) for L-line cocks harvested the highest values compared with H and C lines . Egg production and shell thickness ...
