Oxidative stress (OS) due to an imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants ... more Oxidative stress (OS) due to an imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants has been established as an important factor that can negatively affect the outcomes of assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs). Excess ROS exert their pathological effects through damage to cellular lipids, organelles, and DNA, alteration of enzymatic function, and apoptosis. ROS can be produced intracellularly, from immature sperm, oocytes, and embryos. Additionally, several external factors may induce high ROS production in the ART setup, including atmospheric oxygen, CO2 incubators, consumables, visible light, temperature, humidity, volatile organic compounds, and culture media additives. Pathological amounts of ROS can also be generated during the cryopreservation-thawing process of gametes or embryos. Generally, these factors can act at any stage during ART, from gamete preparation to embryo development, till the blastocyst stage. In this review, we discuss the in vitro conditions a...

In a live class, a teacher is able to constantly monitor the students by visual analysis and active learning. But due to virtual learning, this skill of the teachers becomes impaired due to the mediums being used. But the constant vigilance of the students' attentiveness in class remains imperative to impart good knowledge and have productive sessions. The proposed work is aimed at providing the teacher a detailed analysis for all the students based on physical and emotional analysis of their state during the class. The model analyses the live videos of the students and utilises factors like the pose of the student, the emotional look on the face, the position of the eyelids, along with the posture of the student to provide the teacher a confidence score which he/she can use to determine the attentiveness of the student during the class. With the successful implementation of our proposed work, the aim is to establish a correlation between the factors that have been chosen and develop this model which will aid the teachers to recognise the output of the students, so that they can bring classroom learning closer to the students, while in the safety of their homes. The use of these kind of technologically advanced instructional techniques and enhanced personal learning analysis will allow for the preparing the workforce of tomorrow to be highly trained and competent.

Manufacturing issues for II/RTP, (ion implantation / rapid thermal processing) including pattern effects, are discussed. The effects of Ge, BF 2 , and F for optimization of PMOS extension are investigated for both conventional spike anneal in a hot wall RTP system and flash assist annealing in an arc-lamp RTP system.

Especially micro aerial vehicles operating in cluttered indoor environments need pose updates at high rates for position control. At the same time they are only capable to carry sensors and processors with limited weight and power consumption. Thus a need arises to compare and modify state-of-the-art methods so that the appropriate one can be identified. When these MAVs are used for as tools for inspection and damage assessment, the need to navigate in challenging and degraded indoor environments becomes essential. The work addresses the problem of odometry failure in unfavourable conditions of fire and smoke. The reasons for odometry failure are identified and various image enhancement techniques are implemented and compared. The B diffusivity during annealing was extracted from SIMS of marker layers in boron doping-superlattices and the actual B dose implanted was independently measured by nuclear reaction analysis. Comparable enhancements were observed from both ions. TEM analysis revealed that both boron- and decaborane-implanted samples were amorphized at a nominal B dose of 1015 cm-2. A comparison with data from low energy Si implants revealed a similar dependence of diffusivity enhancements on implant dose. These findings are consistent with the understanding that TED is caused by the interstitial supersaturation resulting from a number of excess interstitials approximately equal to the number of implanted atoms which can become substitutional in the silicon lattice. Accordingly, no contribution to TED is expected from the hydrogen in the B10H 14 ions and none is observed. Furthermore, there is no detectable effect in the diffusion profiles which can be attributed to a difference in the ion-damage produced by the decaborane molecule and the boron atom. In both cases the reduction in diffusivity enhancement is due only to proximity of the implantation-induced excess interstitials to the wafer surface

They are the best examples of engineering marvels which can withstand the degradation by nature and mankind. Bridges are very much prone to natural hazards like earthquake and flooding. They are also exposed to modern methods of transportation (e.g., ships, trains, truck overloading). The regular movement of vehicles, heavy machinery, and supported loads causes bridges to be tested on the stage of time. By designing and having proper regular maintenance, accident levels can be reduced which will further affect the durability of bridges. At the initial stage, the methods of hazard identification and risk assessment are essential for bridge design and construction. Human actions can be thought of as a collective action of these parts. Hence, learning an effective spatio-temporal representation of the collective motion of these parts is key to action recognition. In this work, we propose an end-to-end pipeline for the task of human action recognition on video sequences using 2D joint trajectories estimated from a pose estimation framework. We use a Hierarchical Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory Network (HBLSTM) to model the spatio-temporal dependencies of the motion by fusing the pose based joint trajectories in a part based hierarchical fashion. To denote the effectiveness of our proposed approach, we compare its performance with six comparative architectures based on our model and also with several other methods on the widely used KTH and Weizmann action recognition datasets.
