Trigonella foenum-graecum is used for a variety of health conditions, including digestive problems, bronchitis, tuberculosis, fevers, sore throats, wounds, arthritis, abscesses, swollen glands, skin irritations, diabetes, loss of appetite, ulcers, and menopausal symptoms, as well as in the treatment of cancer. Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds mainly contain Diosgenin [(3β,25R)-spirost-5-en3-ol], a plant-derived steroid sapogenin. Results The identification and quantification results by HPTLC and HPLC studies of Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds hydrolysed Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds, coded formulation, hydrolysed coded formulation extract with standard Diosgenin biomarker showed a significant highest peak in hydrolysed Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds and hydrolysed coded formulation. The standard Diosgenin is observed in the hydr...

It contains more than 25 herbs and goat milk as per the Ayurvedic Formulary of India (AFI). It strengthens the neck, shoulder, and chest muscles and improves the capacity of sense organs. It delays the aging process and reduces hair fall. Recent studies showed that it is also useful in COVID-19. In the current study, an attempt to develop quality control protocols and evaluate the standardization parameters like refractive index, iodine value, saponification value, peroxide value, acid value, rancidity, HPTLC fingerprint profile along with major bioactive compound and quantification of Berberine chloride, Negundoside, and Marmelosin by HPLC. Establishing quality protocol and standard parameters like physicochemical parameters and estimation of bioactive compounds of this preparation is significant for quality control. Results In this study, HPTLC identifies bioactive chemica...

Ipomoea turpethum (Linn.) R.Br. (syn. Operculina turpethum (Linn.) Silva Manso., Merremia turpethum), Ipomoea reniformis Choisy. (Syn. Mrremia emarginata, Mrremia gangetica) and Ipomoea pentaphylla Jacq., (syn. Merremia aegyptia) are the plants belonging to this family 1,2 . The present study attempts quality assessment of plant drugs through the physico-chemical evaluation and profile of roots

The whole plant, its extract and isolates have been extensively investigated in several laboratories for their different biological activities. In addition researchers have evaluated the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunomodulatory and other pharmacological effects of Desmodium gangeticum preparations/extracts

It is found as a weed throught India. The plant which is used in several traditional medicines to cure various diseases. This weed has been known to possess antiproliferative, hypolipidemic, immunostimulatory, anticancerous, antimutagenic and hepatoprotective activity. A wide range of chemical compounds including anthraquinones, chrysophanol, emodin, rhein, euphol, basseol, palmatic, isostearic, behenic acid etc. have been isolated from this plant. The presented review summarizes the information concerning the botany, ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry, biological activity and toxicity of the Cassia tora plant.

In the recent past, number of attempts has been made to compare and evaluate the different species of plants belonging to the same genus. The use of the plants, plant extracts and pure compounds isolated from natural sources has always provided a foundation for modern pharmaceutical research. In present article comparative study between Wedelia biflora and Wedelia chinesis has been made for parameters like ash content, soluble extracts, moisture content, pH, toxic heavy metals, pesticide residue and microbial load etc.

The ventricular septal defect was closed using a unidirectional valved patch to act as a safeguard in the event of postoperative pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular decompensation.

Lead poisoning causes damage to liver, kidney and reduction in haemoglobin formation, mental retardation and abnormalities in fertility and pregnancy. The chief sources of lead in water are the effluents of lead processing industries and manufacturing industries, like storage batteries, insecticides, food and beverages. Lead accumulation in the environment causes serious ecological problems and this requires the application of cheap and effective methods for its removal from the contaminated aqueous streams. The adsorption studies on the removal of lead from aqueous solution using low cost adsorbents was carried out under varying experimental conditions. On the basis of screening studies on the selected adsorbents, treated GAC, mustard husk and treated saw-dust had shown maximum adsorption efficiency for the removal of lead. The adsorption parameters were determined using both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms models. The paper presents the results of the experimental studies as well as the model parameters.
