The analysis is based on the sample of 392 NSE listed firms from 9 industries in the non-financial sector in India for 2006 to 2015. By using “Cluster analysis tool” these firms have been bifurcated into dominant and non-dominant firms for each sector. Panel data methodology has been used to test the hypothesis.

The study uses panel regression technique to measure the impact of Economic Growth on Social Development of 16 states in India explaining the development process for the period spanning 1981 to 2009. The panel regression technique helps incorporate both the cross-section and time-series aspects of the data. In order to analyze the differences in impact of the explanatory variables on the explained variable across states, the study uses Fixed Effect Dummy Variable Model. The results reveal that most of the economic indicators have played a significant role for the reduction of death rate (Social Development Indicator) in the various states in India. The conclusion of the study is that economic growth has a desirable impact on social development, and that the impact is different for different states in India. These programs were given a mandate to accelerate the achievement of the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. Considerable progress toward realizing the MDG objectives has been achieved, especially reductions in infant and child mortality and improvement in measles vaccination coverage (MDG Goal 4), as well as the reduction of maternal mortality and an increase in the number of births attended by skilled personnel (MDG Goal 5). Nevertheless, an overall appraisal of the status of the indicators in 2015 reveals that many of the targets remained to be achieved. The analytical issue explored here is whether the targets were too high to achieve or whether Indian health policies were flawed or too long delayed. This article offers a state...

It argues that this region is characterized by heterogeneity. The proposed strategies for growth take note of this heterogeneity and the disparity caused thereby.
