The study employed a quantitative method using the descriptive-correlational design. The population for this study was constituted by 200 faculty members from three most prominent faith-based universities in Haiti. Due to their limited number, the whole population was involved in the study by filling a questionnaire and data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The study established a moderate level of job satisfaction and job performance among faculty members in selected faith-based universities. Job performance is positively correlated with job satisfaction and the best predictors of job performance include promotion, benefits, nature of work, communication and supervision. The study was guided by the extrinsic and intrinsic motivational theories. It employed the descriptive and correlational research designs. Stratified and simple random sampling techniques were used to obtain the sample of 250 teachers who participated in the stud through questionnaire and focus group discussion. Data was analyzed descriptively, thematically and through Pearson Correlations. The study revealed that the teachers had positive perceptions of both the classroom summative evaluation and national examination. In addition, the study established that there is significant relationship between perceptions on classroom summative evaluation and classroom management (r=.264), formative assessment (r=.383) and syllabus completion (r=.192) and between perceptions on national examination and lesson preparation...

This study at its core sought to examine the delicate relationship between a firm and established reading culture and academic performance in English with the objective of finding out how schools in Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County have endeavored to put up a wide range of materials and policies that inspire reading culture. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The sample of the study constituted 240 secondary school students randomly selected from 15 schools across the sub-county. The study employed questionnaire to gather the data. It was found that students recognized the value of reading. It is recommended that school administrators need to improve library facilities and services.

This study sought to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational com... more This study sought to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment among employees of a selected tertiary educational institution at Northwest of Haiti. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 55 employees. It was found that there is a moderate level of job satisfaction and high level of continuance and normative commitment among employees. It was also found that there is a strong positive relationship between job satisfaction and affective commitment and a weak positive relationship between job satisfaction and normative commitment. It was therefore recommended that administrators should seek to find ways and means to provide extrinsic and intrinsic motivating factors in order to prevent job dissatisfaction with regrettable consequences for the institution when employees may decide to leave their organization.

The study used descriptive quantitative approach through the independent sample t test to reach the intended objectives. The sample size consisted of preservice teachers (n=248) and in-service teachers (n=52) from the two teacher’s colleges. The study established that preservice teachers had higher expectations regarding material benefit and convenience, intellectual stimulation as well as continuation of work in familiar settings than the perceived reality by the in-service teachers who are already in the teaching profession. Intellectual stimulation, worthwhile service to society and interpersonal relationship were considered by both the in-service and the preservice teachers as potential benefits from the teaching profession.
