The objectives of this study were to analyze the specificity of rice genotypes that are adapted to particular locations, to evaluate and identify possible homogeneous environments based on genotype performance, and to identify transplanted and direct-seeded rice genotypes for specific environments. Grain yield data on direct-seeded and transplanted rice, from 2004-2006 [dry (DS) and wet (WS) seasons] of the rice National Cooperative Trials (NCT), were analyzed using the GGE (genotype and genotype by environment) biplot procedure. The use of GGE biplot was helpful in identifying the best genotype for a given environment and possible homogeneous environments. For instance, PR26703-3B-PJ25 was selected for the Pampanga-Pangasinan area, being the highest yielding genotype in the region during the 2004 DS and WS, while PR27842-PJ27 was selected for the Pangasinan-Tarlac area ba...
