Some public buildings and items found in them as a result of archaeological studies are seen as belonging to a different perception of the universe or the world, apart from the daily basic needs. These structures and objects, which can point to an otherworldly living space apart from the secular (daily) life of man, are clues pointing to many beliefs and ceremonies that once existed and have disappeared today. Although the purposes and forms of these ceremonies have changed over the millennia, some of them have managed to reach our day by being partially preserved or by changing their shape. With this thesis, the ceremonial practices in question were examined chronologically based on the practices still performed today and some results were reached. Analogy has been used as the basic method and ritual practices have been compared with each other from the most distant date to the present in the light of archaeological data. In this study, ritual practices are discussed theoretically and practically for possible comparative studies on the history of religions to be made in the following years. Keywords: Ceremony, ritual, rite, history of religions.
