In general, the modulation instability gain spectrum is symmetric about the zero perturbation frequency. Here we observe asymmetric modulation instability gain spectrum and the asymmetry depends on the sign of the refractive index of the medium. When the refractive index of the medium is negative the band with high modulation instability gain is observed at positive detuning frequency regime in contrast to the case of positive refractive index regime where the band with high modulation instability gain is present at a negative detuning frequency regime. This preponderance is attributed to the opposite directionality of phase velocity and energy flow in a negative index material. Our study provides additional ways to tune soliton and ultrashort pulses utilizing engineering freedom of metamaterials.

It is fractured carbonate reservoir and the producing formations are Sakesar & Chorgali. After production of six year with the cumulative production of about 6.0 million barrel of oil, reservoir pressure had gone below bubble point pressure in last quarter of 1995. Due to this rapid decline in reservoir pressure, oil production declined from 3800 – 1800 bbl/day. Water flooding was started in early quarter of 1996 to arrest the production decline by pressure maintenance. With the injection of water, production of oil increased from 1800 – 3800 bbl/day. After injection of two years, water break through occurred and that resulted in decline of production from 3800 to 550 bbl/day. An integrated reservoir simulation study was undertaken to address the problem of early water breakthrough, location of trapped oil and to define new depletion strategy for the field. In this paper, methodology, construction of new reservoir model and understanding of reservoir b...

Various environmental and physiological factors contribute to disturbed reproductive health status leading to infertility problems in mammalian species. In the last couple of decades a significant number of studies have been conducted to investigate the transcriptome of reproductive tissues and organs in relation to the various reproductive health issues including endometritis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), preeclampsia, and various age-associated reproductive disorders. Among others, the post-transcriptional regulation of genes by small noncoding miRNAs contributes to the observed transcriptome dysregulation associated with reproductive pathophysiological conditions. MicroRNAs as a class of non-coding RNAs are also known to be involved in various pathophysiological conditions either in cellular cy...

The results indicate that the type of substrate has no effect on Co‐ZnO films stoichiometry, morphology, microstructure, and film thickness. The findings show the presence of hexagonal close‐packed metallic Co whose content increases in the films deposited on Al2O3 and Si substrates relatively to SiO2 substrate. The potential of the films as model nano‐catalysts has been evaluated in the context of the Fischer‐Tropsch (FT) process. Fuel fractions, which have been observed in FT liquid products, are rich in diesel and waxes. Specifically, Co‐ZnO/Al2O3 nano‐catalyst shows a selectivity of ∼4%, 31%, and 65% towards gasoline, diesel, and waxes, respectively, while Co‐ZnO/SiO2 nano‐catalyst shows a selectivity of ∼12%, 51%, and 37%, for gaso...

The films have been deposited at various temperatures (350оC, 400оC, 450оC) and pulse frequencies (2 Hz, 4 Hz), under a background argon (Ar) pressure of about 3 mtorr, and an accelerating voltage of 14 kV. The surface morphology has been examined by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). According to SEM analysis, the films consist of nano-globules whose size is in the range of 80-178 nm. Energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX) reveals that deposition is congruent and the prepared films contain ∼20±5 w% cobalt. It has been found that the nano-globules in the deposited films are cobalt-rich zones containing ∼70 w% Co. From x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, Co 2p3/2peaks indicate that the deposited films contain CoO (binding ene...
