For instance network intrusion detection and cyber security as a whole rely on real time analysis of network traffic. Unfortunately, when implemented on conventional architectures such applications become horribly inefficient, especially when attempts are made to scale up performance via some sort of parallelism. An earlier paper discussed streaming anomaly detection within a stream having an unbounded range of keys on the Lucata migrating thread architecture. In this paper we introduce Deluge, a new implementation that addresses several inadequacies of previous designs and seeks to more directly target the hardware efficiencies inherent to migratory execution within a PGAS address space. Deluge achieves major improvements in hardware efficiency, throughput, and scalability over previous implementations.

Accordingly, we evaluated parameters of arteriolar structure and measured transmural myocardial perfusion during adenosine vasodilation before and up to one month after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of a chronic LAD stenosis in swine (n=12). Regional function was depressed at rest (LAD wall thickening 38.6±4.0 vs. 92.2±7.5%, p<0.05). Immediately after PCI, subendocardial flow during adenosine vasodilation increased from 1.5±0.3 to 4.6±0.8 ml/min/g, but fell to 2.7±0.3 ml/min/g one month later without evidence of restenosis. Histological assessment of subendocardial resistance vessel remodeling is shown below: Group Subendocardial Arterioles Lumen Area (μm2) Density (arterioles/mm2) WT/Lumen Diameter (%) Hibernating (n=148) 721±67* 10.7±1.8* 37.3±1.5* Revascularized (n=54) 659±88* 5.8±0.4 40.3±2.2* Sham (n=54) 1184±173 6.2±0.3 28.7±1.3 Values are mean±SEM; n=total number of vessels analyzed; WT=wall thickness; p<0.05 vs. Sham. These data indicate that there is subendocardial microvascular remodeling in hibernating myocardium with an increase in arteriolar density compensating for a reduction in arteriolar lumen area. After revascularization, arteriolar density returns to normal but lumen area remains reduced and decreases maximal perfusion. These chronic microvascular structural changes could precipitate subendocardial ischemia in the absence of coronary restenosis. Supported by NIH HL61610.

Until recently, these missions far from shore were only possible using manned surface vehicles. Over the past decade, advances in energy density, actuators, electronics, and controls have enabled great improvements in vehicle endurance, yet, no solution is capable of supporting persistent operation especially when considering power hungry scientific surveys. This dissertation summarizes contributions related to the development of an adaptable underwater docking station and associated navigation solutions to allow applications in the wide range of maritime missions. The adaptable docking system is a novel approach to the standard funnel shaped docking station design that enables the dock to be collapsible, portable, and support a wide range of vehicles. It has been optimized and tested extensively in simulation. Field experiments in both pool and open water validate the simulation results. The associated control strategies for approach and terminal homing are also introduced and studied in simulation and field trials. These strategies are computationally efficient and enable operation in a variety of scenarios and conditions. Combined, the adaptable docking system and associated navigation strategies can form a baseline for future extended endurance missions away from manned support.
