In our research we have started from the premises that smart technology is a strategic tool for the development of critical thinking and the Smart curricula and the Smart pedagogy have to be created in order to develop the critical thinking for both students and professors. Our findings revealed that INCESA HUB has the possibility to optimize learning process and to transform the University of Craiova into a modern and SmU. The e-learning Tesys platform plays a very important role, because, through its flexibility, it is able to fulfil the Smart mission of SmU. Finally, we arrived at the conclusion that the solution resides in the involvement of all stakeholders at intern, local, national and international level in order to acquire and share the knowledge.

In our research, two theoretical approaches are used to develop the hypotheses related to the relationships between user and technology: the relationship user-prosumer and the relationship principal-agent. Therefore, our quantitative and qualitative research put into value a strong relationship between user and technology. We arrived at the conclusion that the entrepreneurial behaviour of the agent is positively related to the Tesys features and also that the agent’s satisfaction is positively related to the principal feedback. We find that the principal-agent theory offers an integrated approach of the e-learning system in a Smart environment, and that a lack of agents control coupled with the lack of the principal’s motivation generated artificial barriers difficult to overcome even with Smart technology.

Although the CSR contributions of big Greek corporations with major holdings in external markets remained unaffected the smaller ones that mainly relied on the Greek market for their business have shifted their focus to their own survival and to a much lesser extent their contribution to CSR activities. This paper presents an overview of the CSR field in Greece and the perspective of effective CSR contributors through selected brief case studies.

A dynamic computable general equilibrium modeling was carried out for this purpose using a social accounting matrix (SAM) based on an extensive segmentation of the labor market according to gender and socio-professional category. The results prove that the investments made in priority market sectors led, overall, to a good trajectory of economic growth. Moreover, job creation followed the expansion of sectors of the economy, which increased their demand for labor because of the capital increase. In conclusion, there is a strong demand for qualified women (senior executives and middle executives). We recommend considering positive discrimination in favor of women by implementing public employment programs and the importance of recovery sectors affected by the pandemic.

This phenomenon represents a devastating financial threat to banks and may lead to irrecoverable consequences in case of negligence or underestimation. In this article, we study a mathematical model that describes the contagion of liquidity risk in the banking system based on the SIR epidemic model simulation. The model consists of three ordinary differential equations illustrating the interaction between banks susceptible or affected by liquidity risk and tending towards bankruptcy. We have demonstrated the bornness and positivity of the solutions, and we have mathematically analyzed this system to demonstrate how to control the banking system’s stability. Numerical simulations have been illustrated by using real data to support the analytical results and prove the effects of different system parameters studied on the contagion of liquidity risk.

COVID-19 negatively affected the Albanian tourism sector because 2,657,818 foreign citizens visited Albania in 2020, which is 41.49% less than in 2019. To investigate the potential of Albanian tourists, this study employs a quantitative analysis and a Regression Model. The results demonstrate that the tourist is a rational decision-maker and our findings indicate that there are differences in expectations and perceptions among respondents. These differences are not significantly correlated with the respondents’ gender, but in terms of education level, the differences are significant for empathy, where the respondents with a college degree have a higher level of expectations than respondents that have higher education. Our findings highlight the practical implications of research for managers of hotels because they have to take into account that t...

To do this, an online survey was carried out on a sample of 2541 respondents. Using a K-means clustering model, three clusters of consumers were identified. Cluster 1, “Careless”, consumers who dispose of food and food waste carelessly, are people who come from rural areas or small cities and have a rather low level of education. They do not have much information on the subject of food waste and do not seem to consider it “a problem”. Cluster 2, “Precautious”, composed of responsible people who do not throw away food, are well-informed and consider that all actors in the agri-food chain have a share in the food waste problem. Those who belong to cluster 3, “Ignorant”, are mostly from urban areas and have a high level of education. They were not raised to prevent food waste and therefore lack such habits as ...

During February–August 2020, a cross-sectional survey design was administrated to medical employees from hospitals situated in the northeastern part of Algeria. Our findings proved that the four groups of KPIs correlate to each other, and during this period, the triple relationship among human factor-technology-medication plays a decisive role in reducing the pressure on the medical system and overcoming the crisis. In order to increase the efficiency of the decision-making process, a hierarchy of KPIs is recommended in terms of their impact on the performance of medical staff. The practical importance of our research consists in ranking KPIs on four cluste...

Within this context, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of the pandemic on the future attractiveness of the hospitality industry (HI) to young people. The conceptual model underpinning the empirical research proposes a direct relationship between job attractiveness and the spirit of youth adventure. Findings prove that young people are enthusiastic about working in the HI because they can easily practice their creative ideas. Communicating with other people and dealing with clients’ complaints is challenging for them in the pandemic crisis created by COVID-19. The results are of interest to policymakers in terms of suggestions on how to transform the challenges into opportunities by using the constraints imposed by the pandemic crisis that have limited the socialisation between people, enhancing the creativity of young people, and motivating t...
