Carl Taylor

Having qualified first as an environmental scientist and then as a psychologist, Carl’s early career spanned:

• Research in marine microbiology with Shell Research
• Corporate strategic planning with Shell International
• A two-year secondment to head-up a Business Federation
• New ventures development with Shell UK

In 1990 Carl went freelance and is now engaged in consultancy, professional and personal development activities that cover:

• Performance and personal development coaching for leaders and executives
• Planning and implementing business strategy
• Transforming organization and team performance
• Leadership, Director and Board development programmes

In addition to his consultancy and development work, Carl has held four non-executive directorships, with a national housing association, an international manufacturing firm, a multi-media development company, and currently with a Multi-Academies Trust.

In his leisure time, Carl sails, usually around the UK but once across the North Atlantic and around the shores of Greenland - where chaos and tranquillity were present in equal measure!  He maintains this interest in sailing by chartering a variety of vessels on which he works with teams, facilitating accelerated learning in areas including organizational development, team-building and performance management. Carl is also an Expedition Leader for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
