O objetivo deste artigo é o de analisar os valores deôntico e epistêmico do verbo modal “dever” n... more O objetivo deste artigo é o de analisar os valores deôntico e epistêmico do verbo modal “dever” no Português do Brasil a partir de uma abordagem funcional da modalidade (cf. Bybee, 1995, Neves, 1996 e Dik, 1997) e verificar seu processo de Gramaticalização (cf. Hopper, 1991, Hopper & Traugott, 1993, Traugott & König, 1991). Num trabalho de variação e mudança linguística, foram utilizados como corpuspara esta análise a Carta de Pero Vaz de Caminha, como exemplo do português do século XVI, Sermões do Padre Antônio Vieira, como exemplos do século XVII, e Mostras de Diálogo entre Documentador e Informante (DID) do NURC do Rio de Janeiro, como exemplos do século XX. Observou-se o uso prototípico do verbo “dever” como deôntico, passando a ter valores polissêmicos e, finalmente, valor epistêmico, o que evidencia um clineque parte do sentido deôntico para o epistêmico, num ganho de subjetividade (cf. Neste trabalho, apresenta-se um panorama dos estudos sociolinguisticos, desde os primeiros trabal... more Neste trabalho, apresenta-se um panorama dos estudos sociolinguisticos, desde os primeiros trabalhos que fundam o campo na decada de 1960 ate as pesquisas mais recentes na segunda decada do seculo 21. Seguindo o que Eckert (2005, 2012) considera como as “tres ondas” da sociolinguistica, reveem-se os principais conceitos e metodologias das perspectivas variacionista (ou macrossociologica), etnografica e estilistica. Serao apresentadas tambem algumas das pesquisas feitas no Brasil para cada uma das diferentes ondas. Por fim, discutem-se alguns desafios teoricos e metodologicos no que diz respeito aos estudos mais recentes que se dedicam ao estudo de estilos e de construcao/expressao de identidades.

Neste trabalho, pretendemos estudar processos de categorização na fala de estudantes secundarista... more Neste trabalho, pretendemos estudar processos de categorização na fala de estudantes secundaristas que participaram da ocupação da Escola Estadual Carlos Gomes, na cidade de Campinas – SP, em 2015. Partimos da hipótese de que a categorização, como fenômeno textual-discursivo e sociocognitivo (cf. APOTHÉLOZ; RECHLERBÉGUELIN, 1995; MONDADA; DUBOIS, 1995; MARCUSCHI, 2007; KOCH, 2008), constitui-se como um recurso argumentativo e como recurso identitário, marcando pontos
de vista e centros de valor. Partimos da premissa de que existe uma correlação entre formas linguísticas com significados sociais que indiciam (cf. OCHS, 1992; SILVERSTEIN, 1976) traços identitários e representações identitárias, construídas na fala desses estudantes. Na metodologia, empregamos o uso de questionário sociocultural, diários de observação e de entrevista sociolinguística. Foram selecionados oito colaboradores, sendo quatro estudantes do sexo masculino e quatro estudantes do sexo feminino, escolhidos a partir da rede de contatos de uma estudante âncora (cf. MILROY, 1987; MILROY; GORDON, 2003; BERNARD, 2006). As entrevistas foram transcritas a partir de convenções adaptadas do projeto NURC (CASTILHO, 1970, 1990) e do projeto ALIP (GONÇALVES, 2003). Temos como objetivo geral mostrar como a categorização se constitui como um recurso de construção de representações de identidade na fala desses estudantes. São discutidas também as concepções de categorização e de identidade no interior dos Estudos Sociais, da Psicologia Social e dos Estudos Linguísticos, para, finalmente, nos posicionarmos com a concepção de que identidade é ao mesmo tempo incorporada e emergente (BOURDIEU, 2006, 2009; HANKS, 2008; BUCHOLTZ; HALL, 2012; BELL, 2016). Defendemos também que a ocupação constitui o que Wenger (1998) denomina de comunidade de prática. A partir de estudos em teorias dos Novos Movimentos Sociais (MELUCCI, 1996; SNOW, 2001), analisamos as identidades pessoais dos secundaristas e traços identitários que permitem falar em identidade coletiva dos estudantes. Como resultados, descrevemos e analisamos
as heterocategorizações sobre os atores sociais dessa instituição, como os grupos de alunos, os professores e a direção. A partir da Teoria da Metáfora Conceptual (LAKOFF; JOHNSON, 2002), descrevemos e analisamos a ocupação conceptualizada pelos estudantes como “um movimento dos estudantes”, como “luta”, como “mudança” e como
“voz”. Identificamos também categorizações heterodialógicas, que reportam a voz do outro, sobre a ocupação, a reorganização e os atores sociais ali envolvidos. Identificamos ainda autocategorizações que indiciam traços identitários dos entrevistados. Por fim, mostramos como identidades individuais convergem para a formação de uma identidade
coletiva (cf. SNOW, 2001), resultado do compartilhamento de traços identitários construídos previamente, durante e após a ocupação. Concluímos que há regularidades nas categorizações e nas identidades dos estudantes e que a participação deles nessa comunidade de prática permitiu a emergência de novos traços identitários, antes ausentes.

Neste trabalho, analisamos como questões sociolinguísticas aparecem nas coleções “Se liga na lín... more Neste trabalho, analisamos como questões sociolinguísticas aparecem nas coleções “Se liga na língua”, de Ensino Fundamental e Médio, e no livro “Linguagens em Interação”, de Ensino Médio, todos da Editora Moderna. Discutimos o que Eckert (2005, 2012) denomina de primeira, segunda e terceira ondas dos estudos sociolinguísticos e suas respectivas preocupações e apresentamos também o que propõem documentos oficiais, como os PCNs (Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais) e a BNCC (Base Nacional Comum Curricular), a respeito de questões sociolinguísticas. É feita uma análise comparativa entre materiais didáticos, documentos oficiais e pesquisas recentes no campo do estudo social da linguagem, de modo que se observe como uma série de tópicos da área foram incorporadas (ou não) no ensino de língua portuguesa. A partir dos resultados, o que se propõe é que autores de livros didáticos não deixem de contemplar temas que são caros às pesquisas mais recentes, em especial à terceira onda, como o uso da língua na elaboração identitária dos falantes, e também não deixem de contemplar níveis linguísticos que passaram a ganhar espaço em pesquisas sociolinguísticas mais recentes, como o nível textual-discursivo.

pá no português falado do Brasil. Esse processo de emergência de juntores. é comum em línguas românicas, dada a diminuta herança de elementos gramaticais do latim. No âmbito das conjunções, Longhin (2015) aponta haver contínua recomposição desse quadro “[...] por meio de processos de mudança, sobretudo [...] por gramaticalização, que reanalisam a categoria e o sentido de palavras já existentes” (LONGHIN, 2015, p. 60); tendência já identificada em Kortmann (1997). Em decorrência da concepção de emergência, é possível prever que alguns esquemas de conjuncionais emergem cotidianamente.
