Our goal is to quantify the vocal registers transition phenomena during the trills that occur during these Mongolian Long Song productions. The study includes: 1) videofiberoptic laryngeal data of the 61 ornaments of a song produced by a famous Mongolian singer, Narantuya, with quantitative analysis (distance between the left and right arytenoids); 2) an acoustical analysis of the fundamental frequency F0 and intensity I curves of the ornaments. The fiberoptic analysis showed two main laryngeal behaviour in producing ornamentations, with a leitmotiv: 1) "lyrical" vibratos mobilizing the entire laryngeal block; 2) "Mongolian" trills with essentially supraglottic movements, the left arytenoid being mobilized independently of the rest of the laryngeal block. The acoustic analysis showed: 1) for the "lyrical" vibrato: F0 and I were in-phase, with a ...

What are the labial movements and the acoustic characteristics of spoken and sung vowels in the Cantu in Paghjella, depending on the singer and the vowel? The labial movements of the bassu and the secunda were measured with two multi-sensor headsets developed within the European project iTreasures (Chawah et al., 2014), containing an electrostatic cardioid headset microphone (model C520L, brand AKG) used to record the acoustic signal, and a video camera (model DFM 22BUC03-ML USBmono CMOS), in front of each subject’s lips, to acquire the lips movements.

The objective is to compare phonetic variation in the speech of dysarthric vs. healthy speakers in different speech conditions (read and unprepared speech). More precisely, we aim to compare the extent, types and location of phonetic variation within these different populations and speech conditions. The TYPALOC corpus is constituted of a selection of 28 dysarthric patients (three different pathologies) and of 12 healthy control speakers recorded while reading the same text and in a more natural continuous speech condition. Each audio signal has been segmented into Inter-Pausal Units. Then, the corpus has been manually transcribed and automatically aligned. The alignment has been corrected by an expert phonetician. Moreover, the corpus benefits from an automatic syllabification and an Automatic Detection of Acoustic Phone-Based Anomalies. Finally, in order to...

It also includes fragile intangible live expressions, which involve knowledge and skills such as music, dance, singing, theatre, human skills and craftsmanship. These manifestations of human intelligence and creativeness constitute our Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), a basic factor of local cultural identity and a guaranty for sustainable development. In this paper, we briefly introduce the i-Treasures research project, which aims at developing an open and extendable platform to provide access to ICH resources, enable knowledge exchange and contribute to the transmission of rare know-how. The project goes beyond digitization of cultural content; it creates new knowledge that has never been analysed or studied before through novel methodologies for the analysis and modelling of ICH based on multisensory technology. High-level semantics are extracted enabling researchers to identify possible...

We analysed medical files of 78 singers examined at the hospital “Gui de Chauliac” in Montpellier, in the Amy de la Bretèque’s unit, for a period of 15 months. Data related to age, gender, occupational status, singing training and experience, musical style, voice complaint, diagnosis, grade at the GRBAS scale and treatment were gathered.
