The author of these letters speculated on the grounding of (classical) architecture onto an essentially tectonic culture, disregarding completely the paradigm of the forest. More precisely, according to him, the modern architecture must have been rooted in the megalithic assemblies which, furthermore, were religiously connoted through the medium of mysterious inscriptions. Extravagant and obscure as they were, the conjectures advanced by Viel de Saint-Maux are worth being read as an attempt to revive the theoretical discourse – even if virulently contesting the Vitruvian tradition – by resorting to allegory and symbo...

However, it was during the age of Enlightenment, and in the context of archaeological discoveries and picturesque voyages, that the perception of ruin acquired a more objective dimension. Nevertheless, the imaginative approach still persisted in the various representations of ruins, mainly through the medium of assemblage, displacement or distortion. These are, in fact, the strategies of capriccio, an artistic category which, although theoretically mistrusted, was quite in vogue during the age of Enlightenment. Even more interestingly, the caprice was not limited to painting, as it was introduced – in the form of the so-called fabrique – in the garden design as well, which, by that time, was largely considered as closely related to landscape painting itself. This text attempts to examine the ruin as an object/place meant to concentrate and display a ...

Inevitably, the increase in rationality provoked the loss of the mythical component that still infused the Early Modern architectural theory. Carlo Lodoli's thought plays an important part in this process, as it carries forth the questioning of the authority of ancient knowledge, practice and aesthetics, while emphasizing the ethical function of architecture. This paper is an attempt to see Lodoli's theory through the lens of the coeval scientific achievements, while presenting him as an actor of the architectural crisis at the end of classical modernity.

In these centrals we can use the squirrel cage asynchronous generators, because these machines are the most safety in function and easy exploited. This work show the function analyzing of the asynchronous generator having on involving torque depending on the square wind speed, the air-density and on the construction of the wing spiral.

Porous silica-based materials are a promising alternative to graphite anodes for Li-ion batteries... more Porous silica-based materials are a promising alternative to graphite anodes for Li-ion batteries due to their high theoretical capacity, low discharge potential similar to pure silicon, superior cycling stability compared to silicon, abundance, and environmental friendliness. However, several challenges prevent the practical application of silica anodes, such as low coulombic efficiency and irreversible capacity losses during cycling. The main strategy to tackle the challenges of silica as an anode material has been developed to prepare carbon-coated SiO2 composites by carbonization in argon atmosphere. A facile and eco-friendly method of preparing carbon-coated SiO2 composites using sucrose is reported herein. The carbon-coated SiO2 composites were characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, transmission and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and charge–discharge cycling...

Induction generators operate as stand-alone self excited by capacitors and turbine has no flow regulating valve. Many conventional and non conventional approaches are described to govern turbine-generator set to ensure a steady frequency and voltage level. A load controller increases or decreases a ballast load connected across the generator as the user load varies, to keep frequency and voltage variation in standard limits. To design a controller for self excited induction generator, researches were performed on asynchronous generator with double winding stator to analyse steady state open loop behaviour. The results on the behaviour of the unregulated turbine (DC motor) – generator system was presented.

Concurrently, there are sinthetically shown the political-juridic particular features of the rule of law, meant to express the core of the in question phenomenon.

A conventional longboard was transformed into an electric one and tested in ICSI Rm. Valcea labs. A series of tests were performed both at the laboratory level and, under normal running conditions, outdoors. Nevertheless, two possible scenarios have been taken into consideration. First, when the electric longboard is running on a flat road with a cruise speed, while the second scenario considered was that of climbing a hill with a 10% slope. The results confirmed the expectations and showed that a full charge of the batteries allows a trip over a distance of almost 50 km on a flat route having a consumption of about 10 Wh/km. However, there are some things to keep in mind when making travel distance predictions. The quality and the profile of the road, the weight of the rider, the rider position, all of these are factors which can significantly influence the predictions regarding the travel distance...
