An efficient, selective, sensitive, and rapid ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass... more An efficient, selective, sensitive, and rapid ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method was established and validated for the quantification of pramipexole dihydrochloride monohydrate and levodopa simultaneously in human plasma with the aid of diphenhydramine as an internal standard. A simple protein precipitation technique with HPLC grade acetonitrile was efficiently utilized for the cleanup of plasma. The analysis was performed using a Hypersil gold 50 mm × 2.1 mm (1.9 µm) column and a mobile phase of 0.2% formic acid and methanol (90: 10 v/v). The triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray source operated in the positive mode was set up in the selective reaction monitoring mode (SRM) to detect the ion transitions m/z 212.15 →153.01, m/z 198.10→ 135.16, and m/z 255.75 → 166.16 for pramipexole dihydrochloride monohydrate, levodopa, and diphenhydramine, respectively. Novel Schiff base was synthesized from condensation reaction of metformin with [4- (Diethylamino)... more Novel Schiff base was synthesized from condensation reaction of metformin with [4- (Diethylamino) benzaldehyde (NBM). Different metal complexes were prepared using Pd(II), Pt(II), Cu(II) and V(IV) metal ions. All complexes showed the non-electrolytic behavior. So, the expected molecular formulas for complexes are [Pd(NBM)Cl2], [Pt(NBM)Cl2], [Cu(NBM)2Cl2] and [VO(NBM)2]. The cytotoxicity of (NBM) Schiff base and its metal complexes on human cancer cell line, MCF-7, was investigated. V(IV) and Cu (II) complexes showed potential blood-glucose lowering effect higher than the commercial metformin drug. VO(IV) complex has superior antioxidant activity more than the other synthesized compounds and the standard ascorbic acid. Molecular docking investigation proved the presence of interesting interactions between all synthesized compounds with the active site amino acids of EGFR tyrosine kinase (anticancer activity). In the first and second methods pamabrom and paracetamol were determined using second and third derivative UV spectrophotometry with zero crossing measurement at 301 and 265 nm for second derivative method and at 290 and 257 nm for third derivative method, for pamabromand paracetamol, respectively. The third method depends on first derivative of the ratios spectra by measurements of the amplitudes at 271 nmfor pamabromand at 258 nm for paracetamol. The fourth one depends on two wavelength measurement for the total content of the two drugs at 222 and 265 nm, while the content of paracetamol was determined by measuring the absolute value of the first derivative curve at 243 nm. BACKGROUND: Biomaterial cytotoxicity on dental stem cells plays a critical role in managing the r... more BACKGROUND: Biomaterial cytotoxicity on dental stem cells plays a critical role in managing the regeneration of dental tissue.AIM: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of Nano-hydroxy apatite (NHA), Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), and Calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) on the proliferation, and viability of human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) isolated from third molar teeth.METHODS: Cultured DPSCs were characterized and the tested biomaterials were shaped into cylinders then inserted directly on the DPSCs. Proliferation and viability percentage of DPSCs were evaluated at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 14 days of culture.RESULTS: The biomaterials supplemented DPSCs showed a significant initial decrease in cell count and viability percentage at day one. Then, a rise in cell counts and viabilities was noticed after that. Exposure to addictive substances during this phase leads to various alterations in brain functions that persist into adulthood. The present study was designed to study the neurotoxic effects of tramadol and cannabis, alone and in combination, in adolescent male albino rats by studying their behavioral, biochemical, and histopathological neurotoxic effects and their long–term consequences after withdrawal.Methods: For this purpose, 132 adolescent male albino rats were divided into 5 groups (22 rats/ group).
