The Simultaneous localization and Mapping (SLAM) is a complex process and consumes major chunk of computational power. Many algorithms have been developed to enhance the SLAM process and is a progressing area in Robotics research. ROS is one such framework which provides multiple algorithm nodes to work with and provides a communication layer to Robots. Many of these algorithms majorly in use are HectorSLAM, Gmapping and KartoSLAM. This paper provides with a quantitative analysis of these algorithms and their performance on various parameters on a differential robot equipped with 2D Laser scanner. We Study the optimum parameters of each of these algorithms and then compare the performance of these algorithms against one another. Since computational requirement of these algorithms is expensive, we also study the variation in performance using a Nvidia Jetson TK1 Embedded board and a Personal Laptop with dedicated GPU.

This study has been done to compare the functional outcome and complications of two techniques: posterior lumbar fusion (intertransverse fusion) and posterior lumbar interbody fusion. Methods: Total 20 patients with spondylolisthesis admitted in a tertiary care centre in Rajasthan were allotted alternatively in posterior lumbar fusion (PLF) group and posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) group. In PLF, fusion was done by placing bone graft between transverse processes and around facets. In PLIF, fusion was bone by placing cage in between vertebral bodies. Results: 20 patients were included in our study with female predominance (65%). Mean age was 54.2 years (PLF=58.4 and PLIF=50.2). 70% patients have L4-L5 level spondylolisthesis. Average operative time was less in PLF group, which is statistically significant. Functional outcome was measured by using visual analogue scale (VAS) score and Ja...

Despite advances in magnetic resonance imaging, including use of perfusion and diffusion sequences and molecular imaging, distinguishing radiation necrosis from progressive tumor remains a diagnostic and clinical challenge. We investigated the sensitivity and specificity of 18F-fluciclovine PET to accurately distinguish radiation necrosis from recurrent intracranial metastatic disease in patients who had previously undergone SRS. Methods Fluciclovine PET imaging was performed in 8 patients with a total of 15 lesions that had previously undergone SRS and had subsequent MRI and clinical features suspicious for recurrent disease. The SUVmax of each lesion and the contralateral normal brain parenchyma were summated and evaluated at 4 different time points (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and 55 minutes). Lesions were characterized as either recurrent d...

This paper focuses on the expansion of inputs that may be considered in these models. A correlation matrix is used to identify those variables with the highest correlation to COVID - 19 cases. These variables are then used and compared in three methods that predict future cases: a Support Vector Machine Regression (SVR), Multidimensional Regression with Interactions, and the Stepwise Regression method. All three methods predict a rise in cases similar to the actual rise in cases, and importantly, are all able to predict to a certain degree the unexpected dip in cases on the 10th and 11th day of prediction.

Defersha In this thesis, the total inspection policy cost of a batch assembly line in the multi-stage production system (MSPS) is optimized by using the Genetic Algorithm with Monte Carlo simulation. Total inspection policy cost (consist of inspection, rework and penalty costs) can be optimized by allocating different inspection strategies without compromising the quality of the final product. Inspection (Full, Sample, No inspection) is allocated at each station in such a way as to reduce the total inspection policy cost. As far as concerning tolerance stack-up which mainly depends on optimizing the limits (lower and upper inspection limits), the Genetic Algorithm is trying to optimize the limits as closely as possible to reduce the penalty cost. In foundries, several inoculants have been used to refine grain structure, and to obtain uniform distribution of graphite flakes. Inoculation is one of the most critical steps in cast iron production. The effectiveness of inoculants depends on melt temperature, method of addition, type of inoculants, and holding time. In this paper, the effect of Ca-based, Ba-based, Ca-Ba based and Sr-based inoculants on microstructure and tensile properties of grey cast iron IS-210 and spheroidal graphite iron IS-1862 is reported. Results showed both Ca and Ba based inoculants were effective in obtaining uniform distribution of flaky and nodular graphite in IS-210, and IS-1862 cast irons, respectively. There are many application dependent routing protocols in the literature to establish communication for densely connected MANETs to the highly mobile and Opportunistic DTNs (Delay Tolerant Networks). OceanNet aims to provide reliable communication services to the fishermen who take fishing trips that last for several days. In this paper, we study the existing research done on MANET, DTN and hybrid routing protocols. We adopt a system level simulation study for the OceanNet network topology using NS-3. The goal of this approach is to understand the network performance under various factors such as scalability, node movement and connectivity of different types of fishing vessels using MANET protocols. Simulation results show that choosing a single MANET protocol does not prove to be effective for the diff...

After resuscitation and necessary consents, emergency open tracheostomy was done with universal precautions. ECA/CCA ligation was done. All the patients were started on low molecular weight heparin 8 hours post surgery. Therapeutic outcomes were assessed based on simple frequencies and proportions. Results:Of the 27 cases present...

The traditional methods of farming can be replaced with the modern technologies which will help save time and effort of the farmers. In this paper, we have planned to use technologies like IoT, AI, cloud computing, Big Data, and wireless sensor networks (WSN) to help the farmers by reducing their efforts and time required for various processes in agriculture. Various factors like moisture in the soil, humidity, etc., which affect crop growth takes into consideration by using sensors. The mainstay treatment of OSCC is surgery-centered multimodality therapy. Reconstructive surgery is always needed to restore the oral function after ablative surgery. Role of NACT in the treatment of head and neck cancers is still controversial. In this study, we retrospectively reviewed a group of patients with locally advanced but resectable OSCC in a single cancer center. A total of 32 patients who received NACT followed by surgery and 35 patients who underwent surgery without NACT were included in this study. No statistically significant result noted within demographic characteristics, pathology differentiation, site except buccal mucosa (p value=0.04), clinical T4a stage, N stage, positive surgical margins, mandibular preservation rate, skin and RMT involvement and facial edema. 12 out of 32 (37.5%) patients who received NACT were good responders including two patients (6.2%) had a Complete Response ...

The work was completed as a service-learning project in a course on Terrestrial Light Detection and Ranging (T-LiDAR), offered at Georgia Southern University. The resulting models and fly-through videos were donated to Bulloch County Historical Society and to the Georgia Southern Museum, to make them available to the general public and future generations. Additionally, one of the seven barns was selected to be extensively measured to estimate the relative spatial accuracy of all seven resulting 3D point-cloud models, with respect to measurements completed with a highly accurate instrument. Three accurate benchmarks were established around it for georeferencing purposes. The positions of 44 points were measured in the field via an accurate, onesecond, robotic total-station (RTS) instrument. Also, the co...

Here we make a careful effort of extracting explicit upper bounds for Rr(k) from the pigeonhole principle alone. Our main term improves on previously documented explicit bounds for r ≥ 3, and we also consider an often ignored secondary term, which allows us to subtract a uniformly bounded below positive proportion of the main term. Asymptotically, we give a self-contained proof that Rr(k) ≤ ( 3+e 2 ) (r(k−2))! (k−2)!r (1+ or→∞(1)), and we conclude by noting that our methods combine with previous estimates on Rr(3) to improve the constant 3+e 2 to 3+e 2 − d 48 , where d = 66 − R4(3) ≥ 4. We also compare our formulas, and previously documented formulas, to some collected numerical data.
