The extended version of $$\exp (-\psi (\kappa ))$$ exp ( - ψ ( κ ) ) -expansion method is being i... more The extended version of $$\exp (-\psi (\kappa ))$$ exp ( - ψ ( κ ) ) -expansion method is being implemented in a very uniform manner on the $$(4+1)$$ ( 4 + 1 ) -dimensional Fokas equation to explore various exact solutions which are new and distinct from literature. Subsequently, hyperbolic, polynomial, trigonometric along with rational function solutions enclosed with arbitrary constants, are produced. Taking some suitable choice of arbitrary constants, the complex dynamics of the obtained solutions are portrayed via 3D plots, which might be used to describe elastic and nonelastic interactions, surface and internal waves in rivers with different physical situations.

Symmetries to the considered equation are successfully obtained by practicing nonclassical method. According to nonclassical symmetries, KE has been reduced to numerous ODEs. Further, these ODEs are treated such that new analytic solutions are determined by applying power series, ansätz and [Formula: see text]-expansion method.

Spatial solitons and optial nonlinearities in materials like photovoltaic–photorefractive, polymer and organic can be identified by seeking help from NLSE with dual power law nonlinearity. Abundant exact traveling wave solutions consisting free parameters are established in terms of exponential functions. Various arbitrary constants obtained in the solutions help us to discuss the graphical behavior of solutions and also grants flexibility to form a link with large variety of physical phenomena. Moreover, graphical representation of solutions are shown vigorously in order to visualize the behavior of the solutions acquired for the equation.

We construct bilinear forms through using truncated Painlevé expansions along with the Bell polynomials approach. The proposed approach provides enough freedom to construct solutions that may be related to large variety of real physical phenomena, and in addition, this approach enriches the solution structure. Abundant exact solutions involving various arbitrary constants are furnished in uniform manner by using test function. The obtained solutions are entirely new and different from those reported in the literature.

Design/methodology/approach Based on the bilinear form of new reduced form of the (3 + 1)-dimensional generalized BKP equation, lump solutions with sufficient and necessary conditions to guarantee analyticity and rational localization of the solutions are discovered. Also, extended homoclinic approach is applied to considered equation for finding solitary wave solutions.
