The results revealed that crop fertilized with highest level of nutrients i.e. nitrogen at 120 kg/ha along with phosphorus at 60/kg significantly increased plant height, number of branches and inflorescences, weight of flowers, yield of essential oils/plant basis and essentials oils content in flowers.

Different zinc levels (0 kg, 2.5 kg, 5.0 kg and 7.5 kg ha−1) as soil application found significant influenced the growth, seed yield, nutrient content and yield of succeeding carrot crop. It was recorded that 5.0 kg zinc ha−1and 7.5 kg zinc ha−1 were found best on vine length, fruit girth, number of fruits per plant, seed yield of bottle gourd, zinc content, protein content and growth and yield of succeeding carrot crop.

A spray of 2000 ppm cycocel was found to be most effective, resulting in reduced plant height and an increased number of in¯orescences. Maximum yield of foliage, as well as henna powder per plant were recorded with cycocel 2000 ppm which was, statistically, as effective as thiourea at 2000 ppm. The maximum weight of flowers, essential oil content in flowers and yield of essential oil per plant were recorded with thiourea 2000 ppm. The colour intensity of henna powder was shown to be maximal with kinetin 100 ppm followed by thiourea 2000 ppm.

In India onion occupies about 1.23 million hectare area having 19.40 million metric tonnes of production and average productivity of 16.10 metric tonnes ha-1 (Anonymous 2013-14). Onion has culinary, dietary and medicinal importance in daily life of Indian people and due to its export trade, it is also a major vegetable crop to gain foreign currency. Onion crop is slow growing, shallow rooted, narrow, upright leaves and non branching habit. Due to this type of growing habit, onion crop cannot compete well with weeds. In addition to this, frequent irrigation water and fertilizer application allows for successive flushes of weeds in onion. The reduction in crop yield has direct correlation with weed competition. Onion exhibits greater susceptibility to weed competition as compared to other crops due to its inherent characteristics such as their slow growth, small stature, shallow roots and lack of d...

The treatment combinations F6 100 % RDF of NPK + Azotobacter + PSB recorded the maximum longevity of intact flower (27.93), average diameter of flower (7.37 cm), average weight of flower (8.96 g) number of flowers per plant (56.54), yield of flowers per plant (515.62 g), per plot (11.93 kg) and highest flower yield ha (184.13 q). The spacing D3 (60× 60 cm) registered significant (5 %) maximum longevity of intact flower, larger size flower (7.80 cm), average weight of flower (9.14 g) and highest flower yield per plant (456.22 g). Highest flower yield per plot (10.19 kg), number of flower per plant (52.22) and per hectare flower yield (157.29 q/ha) with 60× 45 cm. These results are conclusive that application of 100 % RDF of NPK + Azotobacter+ PSB and plant spac...

Different four zinc levels (0,2.5,5.0 and 7.5 ha-1) as soil application evaluated and found significant influenced the growth, seed yield and nutrient content attributes of bottle gourd seed. Zinc application @7.5 kg zincha-1 significantly increased vine length (502.2cm), number of primary branches pervine (10.44), number of nodes pervine (20.04), minimum number of days to appearance first female flower (57.25) and node on which first male (8.64) and female flowers (10.44) appeared, maximum fruit length (41.07cm) and girth (25.60 cm) and number of seeds perfruit (460.73). However, 5.0 kg Zn ha-1 was found at par except number of fruits per vine (2.95) and higher seed yield per ha (991.16 kg). 7.5 kg Zn ha-1 also registered maximum values of nutrent contents and uptake by seed of bottle gourd except phosphorus content of seed.
