A più di un anno di distanza dalla pubblicazione dell’enciclica di papa Francesco, l’articolo int... more A più di un anno di distanza dalla pubblicazione dell’enciclica di papa Francesco, l’articolo intende presentarne la proposta etica, cercando di accostarla sia in termini complessivi che mediante l’analisi di una questione più specifica. Nella prima parte, l’esposizione viene condotta sulla base di una griglia interpretativa incentrata sui quattro livelli del discorso etico-teologico: etico-descrittivo, etico-fondativo, etico-normativo ed etico-formativo. Nella seconda, si mette a fuoco il caso ‘serio’ del cambiamento climatico, che la Laudato si’ affronta in termini sistematici per la prima volta nella storia della dottrina sociale della chiesa.
This article outlines the ethical teaching about environment offered by the Pope Francis’s encyclical letter. In the first part, it is proposed an analysis based on the four levels of theological ethical reflection: ethical-descriptive level, ethical-grounding level, ethical-normative level, ethical-educational level. This article outlines the theological and ethical reflection on environment offered by the most k... more This article outlines the theological and ethical reflection on environment offered by the most known Italian Manuals of moral theology in the last thirty years (1983- 2013). It focuses on the 90s and 2000s when the offer greatly increased in both quantitative and qualitative terms. This contribution considers three crucial themes enabling to understand environmental ethics as it is presented in manuals: 1) its place in the context of theological ethics with a clear predominance of the social ethical approach; 2) the choice of anthropocentrism; 3) ethical guidelines, i.e. main directions, general action criteria and prudential criteria for correct decisions.
