Very few medical experts, but not so expert in the TS (Turin Shroud), affirm that the TSM was enveloped in a comatose condition and, after a recovery, he came out of the sepulcher. Most of medical and TS experts, however, agree that TSM was already dead when buried, because of the severity of the injuries, the presence of post-mortem stiffness, and many other evidences that will be discussed in this paper. The sum of all these data lead to the conclusion that the man enveloped in the TS was a corpse.

By means of a new kind of image processing, the characteristics of the three marks have been better highlighted and the results are also verified through comparison with signs experimentally produced by different kinds of whips on a proper carton paper. It experimentally results that imprints similar to those observed on the Turin Shroud can be obtained if at least two whips are used: a bunch of flexible rods and a flagrum.

The procedure followed involved correlation of the deformation of the mirror and the associated distortion in the reflected image when subjected to cometary-dust-induced vibrations. It was used to investigate how the mirror would vibrate in reponse to dust impacts and hence to determine the resulting distortion in the reflected image, in order to be able to correct the cometary images at least partially for vibration-induced anomalies.

Experimental laboratory tests carried out on the harvester are presented. The criteria adopted to obtain equivalent rain-drops are discussed. A novel electro-mechanical model is proposed for simulating the dynamic response of this harvester. It takes into account many modes of vibration of the harvester with spoon. The effect of rain-drops is simulated by means of finite width impulses. Numerical results show that the impulse duration and shape influence the generated voltage only if the impulse duration is comparable with the natural period of the harvester. The effect of water waves on the spoon is represented by an additional forcing term and may have a significant effect on the waveform and shape of the generated voltage.

The method is at first applied when only the acquisition system is unknown, and then when also the input is not well known; in this case the face and the right hand of the Turin Shroud are studied underlining the relatively high resolution of such images in comparison with other examples. The method is applied to images of the Turin Shroud and to images obtained both by means of PP (Psychic Photography) and BEO-GDV (Biological Emission and Optical radiation Gas Discharge Visualization). While the resolution of the Shroud images reaches 4.9±0.5 mm at the 5% MTF value, that of PP image is only 12±2 mm, but the resolution of BEO-GDV images of 5.3±0.3 mm is compatible with that of the Shroud images. It results an anomaly at the low spatial frequencies (l...
