An anomalous nature and regulation problems of debris flows are considered in the monograph. Base... more An anomalous nature and regulation problems of debris flows are considered in the monograph. Based on the expected risks analyses, constructively new regulating structures and possibilities of flow influence on the structure are proposed. By selecting of hyperconcentrated flows cohesive structural models, projected parameters are refined. Unlike the counter debris-flow existing engineering methods, constructively different new types structures are proposed; opportunities of their transformation with flows are given. Prognosis of impact force on a structure, possibilities of flow resilience interruption and barraging design parameters are presented. The erosional debris flow processes on the right side of the riverbed of Mletis-Khevi, a tributar... more The erosional debris flow processes on the right side of the riverbed of Mletis-Khevi, a tributary of the Tetri Aragvi, are assessed on the basis of field and laboratory studies. The values of the mountain slope erosion in the Mletis-Khevi catchment area have been determined on the basis of field studies, taking into account the time factor and the extent of slope damage. Dependences are derived by means of the maximum discharge of debris flow of various intensities. Furthermore the volume of transported debris flow mass is calculated. A physical-mechanical and chemical analysis of the debris flow mass has been carried out in the laboratory. The results can be used at a subsequent stage for predicting the various basic characteristics of debris flows.

By evaluating the dynamic nature of debrisflows we determine the methodology of building debris flow regulating constructions and specific elements in said constructs. By taking in mind the river bed and its topographical parameters, we determine debrisflow regulatory elastic barrages geometrical size and we mapped out its designs specific example. By assessing the maximum discharge of the debrisflow, we determine its, dynamical, influence metrics, which in practice helps us assess the constructions reliability and risks of it being rendered unusable by the aforementioned factors.

In order to effectively regulate debris flows, the book presents innovative environmental protection structures, the scientific-technical priorities of which are also certified by relevant patents. In order to design innovative debris flow control structures, theoretical, laboratory and field studies have been conducted, through which the book is able to calculate the dynamic and static loads acting on the structures and use this data to determine the reliability and risk of it. The book will appeal to scientists working in the field of applied and fundamental sciences, students of higher educational institutions, and a wide range of engineering experts interested in the field of environmental protection.
