Most of the project's participants reported willingness to continue with virtual classes after the end of the pandemic, even with the problems of delay, reverberation, internet outages, which made the group's musical appreciation very difficult. New ways of teaching and learning increase the diversity of the ways in which music and inclusion are transmitted. This is a phenomenon that can be observed in this peculiar time of pandemic. And the most important thing during the realization of this project in a virtual way was “making music”. It can be said that PROMUVI demonstrated musicking during its rehearsals, which can also be understood as musicality in action that allows exploring the diversity of human relationships. That the close and challenging relationship...

METHODS quasi-experimental study carried out with cancer patients hospitalized in the nursing wards of a public hospital. There was a single 15-minute intervention using music. It was individual, and headphones were used for patients to listen to three songs chosen by each one. The levels of stress and distress were measured before and after the intervention, using music to analyze the cortisol in the saliva and the answers to the distress thermometer. The significance level of the statistical analysis was 5%, using the non-parametric Wilcoxon test. RESULTS the mean age of the 26 patients was 56 years old. Most were female, white, and had breast cancer. After intervention, there were statistically significant diminutions in both stress and distress - p < 0.001. CONCLUSIONS the use of music diminishes the stress and the distress of cancer patients.

Currently, it is known that these sensations of pleasure are capable of interfering in pain management. In this way, we sought to analyze the sensations of pleasure experienced in an aesthetic musical experience and their contribution to the management of pain in Hospital Music Therapy. This is a bibliographic review, with a qualitative approach to the data, made from the final work of the Graduate Neurosciences Program of the Institute of Psychiatry of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPUB/UFRJ). It was verified that the efficacy of music therapy in hospitalized patients is related to the proximity and integration of neural circuits involved in pain and pleasure, in the emotional and cognitive aspects that are activated in both experiences and in the interaction of these issues with the current context. The main positive aspects found were the reduction of pain intensity, analgesic consump...
