It is used both as foliar spray and in the root zone of plant. Our study examines the effect of vermiwash on the growth and development of tomato plant. When vermiwash was sprayed on the tomato plants, it showed a significant growth of plants i.e. length of shoot as well as number of leaves per plant. Vermiwash when mixed with vermicompost increased the shoot length to 19.61±0.18 cm as compared to control 17.92±0.21 cm. when vermiwash was directly sprayed on the plants of tomato the length of shoot was recorded to be 19.72±0.30 cm which was higher as compared to control group17.92±0.21 cm. It can be concluded that the growth of tomato plants showed much positive results when grown in vermicompost. However the results were apparent when the plants were treated with vermiwash. Hence, vermiwash proves to be an effective fertilizer which contributes the growth of plants when sprayed dir...

This study was conducted to find out the effect of vermicompost and vermiwash on the growth and development of leaves and shoot length of brinjal plants. Four combinations were prepared from vermicompost, vermiwash, dung and soil for comparative study. Different combinations such as soil and dung (500g+500g) as control, S+VC+VW (500g +500g+foliar spray on leaves daily not in roots), S+VC (500g+500g), S+VW (1kg+foliar spray on leaves and 200 ml in roots with water in 1:1 ratio daily) as test treatments (TR-1, TR-2 and TR-3) were made. Each treatment was carried out in triplicate to reduce the variations. Experiments were of four weeks. Mean shoot length of plants were observed 4.51±0.07 cm, 4.57±0.10 cm and 4.59±0.10 cm in TR-1, TR-2 and TR-3 treatments respectively, while in control only 4.23±0....

This highly nutritive organic waste is the house of infectious bacteria, vector and insect. A study was conducted to explore the possibility of vermicomposting of household organic waste at home level. For this study household waste (HW) and garden (leaves with soil-dust) waste (GW) were selected. They were mixed with dried dung powder (DDP) and vermicompost (VC) in different ratios. The mixture (20 Kg) was subjected for predecomposting for a period of 15-20 days, followed by release of 50 earthworms (E. eugeniae). Regular sprinkling of water was made in the culture media to maintain moisture content to 50-60% and temperature in the range of 20-28̊C up to 80 days. At end of the experiment observations were made in terms of number and weight of earthworms, juveniles and cocoons. Analysis of vermicompost was also done for values of pH,...

India’s agro-industrial sector contributes colossal wealth of plant materials in the form of compost. The present study aims to publicize soil healthiness and its plant growth supplying possessions further corroborating the use of organic amendments instead of fertilizers. Plastic replicates investigation is an exercise in eighteen replicates in which fifteen were soil amendment treatments: one triplicate-control, 0% vermicompost, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, and 3.125% vermicompost of soil. Containers contained 2 kg soil each, in which seeds are sown, and the measurement of studied traits (length of shoot, length of internodes, flowers, leaves number and number of branches, and rate of germination) was noticed. The earthworms (Eudrilus eugeniae and Aporrectodea caliginosa) feed on waste like broiler droppings, the dung of sheep and cow, leaves, and decomposed wood and convert...
