This randomized, double-blinded, controlled phase 2 trial enrolled women aged 18-25 years in China. Totally 1600 eligible participants were randomized to receive 90μg, 60μg, or 30μg of the recombinant HPV 16/18 bivalent vaccine or the control hepatitis B vaccine on a 0, 1 and 6 month schedule. The designated doses are the combined micrograms of HPV16 and 18 VLPs with dose ratio of 2:1. The immunogenicity of the vaccines was assessed by measuring anti-HPV 16 and 18 neutralizing antibodies and total IgG antibodies. Safety of the vaccine was assessed. All but one of the seronegative participants who received 3 doses of the HPV vaccines seroconverted at month 7 for anti-HPV 16/18 neutralizing antibodies and IgG antibodies. For HPV 16, the geometric mean titers (GMTs) of the neutralizing antibodies were similar between the 60μg (GMT=10,548) and 90μg (GMT=12,505) HPV vaccine groups and were significantly higher than those in the 30μg (GMT=7596) group. For HPV 18, the GMTs of the neutralizing antibodies were similar among the 3 groups. The HPV vaccine was well tolerated. No vaccine-associated serious adverse events were identified. The prokaryotic-expressed HPV vaccine is safe and immunogenic in women aged 18-25 years. The 60μg dosage formulation was selected for further investigation for efficacy.

For both types, the short-circuit photocurrent density JSC under AM 1.5 sunlight was 25 mA/cm2 for 1.5 μm thick cells, which is indicative of excellent light scattering. The external quantum efficiency spectra of the finished cells were only slightly affected by these differences in the backreflectors. Details of the backreflector morphology are unimportant if light-trapping is thermodynamic or ergodic, and scattering establishes equipartition of the optical energy between the different electromagnetic modes of the cell. We extended previous thermodynamic calculations of cell absorptance to incorporate the parasitic losses from the front conducting oxide coating and to accommodate some specular reflectance by the cells. The calculations account well for the quantum efficiency and reflectance spectra of the cells. Comparing the calculations with the experimental data, we conclude that multimode losses in the top oxide coating account for about half of the difference between the ideal “4n2” thermodynamic photocurrent and the smaller values in the cells, where n is the refractive index of the cells׳ absorber layer.

In this work, we used high-throughput sequencing to analyze transcriptome and small RNAs (sRNAs) in Typha angustifolia under cadmium (Cd) stress. 57,608,230 raw reads were obtained from deep sequencing of a pooled cDNA library. Sequence assembly and analysis yielded 102,473 unigenes. We subsequently sequenced two sRNA libraries from T. angustifolia with or without Cd exposure respectively. One key challenge in developing postsilicon electronic technology is to find ultrathin channel ma... more One key challenge in developing postsilicon electronic technology is to find ultrathin channel materials with high charge mobilities and sizable energy band gaps. Graphene can offer extremely high charge mobilities; however, the lack of a band gap presents a significant barrier. Transition metal dichalcogenides possess sizable and thickness-tunable band gaps; however, their charge mobilities are relatively low. Here we show that black phosphorus has room-temperature charge mobilities on the order of 10(4) cm(2) V(-1) s(-1), which are about 1 order of magnitude larger than silicon. We also demonstrate strong anisotropic transport in black phosphorus, where the mobilities along the armchair direction are about 1 order of magnitude larger than in the zigzag direction. A photocarrier lifetime as long as 100 ps is also determined. These results illustrate that black phosphorus is a promising candidate for future electronic and optoelectronic applications.

A large number of patients with HCC are diagnosed at a late stage when the curative treatment of surgical resection and liver transplantation are no longer applicable. Sorafenib has been proved to improve overall survival in advanced HCC; however, drug resistance is common. The present study reported that the CSN5 is correlated with sorafenib resistance of the HCC cell line HepG2/S. Following silencing of CSN5, resistance to sorafenib was reversed, and multi-drug‑resistance proteins, including as adenosine triphosphate binding cassette (ABC)B1, ABCC2 and ABCG2 as well as CDK6, cyclin D1 and B‑cell lymphoma 2 were downregulated. Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) has been reported to induce microglial activation via the NF-κB pathway. Isoflurane preconditioning (IP) can provide neuroprotection and inhibit microglial activation. In this study, we investigated the roles of the TLR4 signalling pathway in IP to exert neuroprotection following ischemic stroke in vivo and in vitro. The results showed that 2% IP alleviated neurological deficits, reduced the infarct volume, attenuated apoptosis and weakened microglial activation in the ischemic penumbra. This study aimed to investigate differences in atrophy patterns in the frontal-subcortical circuits between MCI and AD, assess whether these differences were essential for the pathologic basis of cognitive impairment. A total of 131 individuals were recruited, including 45 with cognitively normal controls (CN), 46 with MCI, and 40 with AD. FreeSurfer software was used to perform volumetric measurements of the frontal-subcortical circuits from 3.0T magnetic resonance (MR) scans. Data revealed that both MCI and AD subjects had a thinner cortex in the left caudal middle frontal gyrus and the left lateral orbitofrontal gyrus compared with CN individuals. ADKZ was extracted by liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) and separated by an Agilent Zorbax SB-C18 column (2.1 × 150 mm, 3.5 μm) using methanol - 0.01% formic acid (70:30, v/v) as the mobile phase. All the validation assays met the acceptable criteria and the linearity ranged from 10 to 1000 pg/ml. The method has been validated to be simple, sensitive and successfully applied to the study. The average amount of ADKZ absorbed into blood was approximately 0.51 μg daily, and ADKZ blood concentrations were consistent during the four-week treatment course. The cumulation of ADKZ in vivo was almost negligible.

The pyrolytic characteristics and kinetics of S. salsa were investigated at heating rates of 5, 10, 20, 30°C/min under nitrogen atmosphere respectively. The most probable mechanism function was deduced using Popescu method, which is a three-dimensional diffusion function (), and n=-2/3. Activation energy and pre-exponential factors were studied through the FWO, KAS and Popescu methods. The results showed that the activation energy increase as the pyrolysis process and three stages were observed in the TG-DTG curves of S.salsa. The results showed that S.salsa as a pyrolysis feedstock has a great potential and a good prospect in bio-oil production.

A 25-year-old woman was found a mass localized in the upper portion four years ago, and only slow progression in the past four years. She underwent a laparoscopic partial nephrectomy of right kidney and diagnosed as anastomosing hemangioma. On histology the vascular components of the tumor had an anastomosing pattern without well-definite margins. Immunohistochemically, only endothelial markers (CD31, CD34) were expressed on the vascular components of tumor cells. Smooth muscle actin (SMA), cytokeratin (CK), EMA and S-100 and so on were all negative in the epithelioid tumor cells. The patient was alive at 16 months after operation, without any evidence recurrence or metastasis. This study aimed to investigate differences in atrophy patterns in the frontal-subcortical circuits between MCI and AD, assess whether these differences were essential for the pathologic basis of cognitive impairment. A total of 131 individuals were recruited, including 45 with cognitively normal controls (CN), 46 with MCI, and 40 with AD. FreeSurfer software was used to perform volumetric measurements of the frontal-subcortical circuits from 3.0T magnetic resonance (MR) scans. Data revealed that both MCI and AD subjects had a thinner cortex in the left caudal middle frontal gyrus and the left lateral orbitofrontal gyrus compared with CN individuals. A rapid and sensitive LC-MS/MS method was established to measure iodiconazole (ADKZ) in dermatoph... more A rapid and sensitive LC-MS/MS method was established to measure iodiconazole (ADKZ) in dermatophytosis patients treated topically with 2% ADKZ cream. ADKZ was extracted by liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) and separated by an Agilent Zorbax SB-C18 column (2.1 × 150 mm, 3.5 μm) using methanol - 0.01% formic acid (70:30, v/v) as the mobile phase. All the validation assays met the acceptable criteria and the linearity ranged from 10 to 1000 pg/ml. The method has been validated to be simple, sensitive and successfully applied to the study. The average amount of ADKZ absorbed into blood was approximately 0.51 μg daily, and ADKZ blood concentrations were consistent during the four-week treatment course. The cumulation of ADKZ in vivo was almost negligible.

HPP16 was identified as Enterobacter asburiae on the basis of 16S rDNA sequencing. It was Indole-3-acetic acid producer, synthesized siderophores and showed acid phosphatase activity. After mung bean was inoculated with HPP16, the germination rate and healthy stand in A-2 (inoculated with fermentation liquid) increased by 26 and 25% compared to A-4 (inoculated with the distilled water; negative control), and were 26 and 31.7% in B-2 (inoculated with fermentation liquid) compared to B-4 (inoculated with the distilled water, negative control). Simultaneously, cornstalk, which is a grass biomass, and sawdust, which is a lignocellulosic biomass, were references. The basic pyrolysis characteristics were studied by using TG-DTG-DTA curves. The pyrolytic characteristics and kinetics of S. salsa were investigated at heating rates of 5, 10, 20, 30°C/min under nitrogen atmosphere respectively. The most probable mechanism function was deduced using Popescu method, which is a three-dimensional diffusion function (), and n=-2/3. Activation energy and pre-exponential factors were studied through the FWO, KAS and Popescu methods. The results showed that the activation energy increase as the pyrolysis process and three stages were observed in the TG-DTG curves of S.salsa. The results showed that S.salsa as a pyrolysis feedstock has a great potential and a good prospect in bio-oil production.

However, l-dopa-induced dyskinesia (LID) has hindered its use for PD patients. The mechanisms of LID are not fully understood. Substance P (SP) receptor antagonist has been shown to reduce parkinsonism in animal models of PD, and ameliorate LID in PD rats. But the concrete mechanism is not fully understood. To address this issue, we produced a rat model of PD using 6-hydroxydompamine (6-OHDA) injections, and valid PD rats were intranigrally administrated with different doses of SP receptor antagonist LY303870 (5nmol/day, 10nmol/day and 20nmol/day) following l-dopa (6mg/kg/day, i.p.) plus benserazide (12mg/kg/day, i.p.) for 23days. For many cases of ANSD, the underlying molecular pathology and the site of lesion remain unclear. The X-linked form of the condition, AUNX1, has been mapped to Xq23-q27.3, although the causative gene has yet to be identified. We performed whole-exome sequencing on DNA samples from the AUNX1 family and another small phenotypically similar but unrelated ANSD family. We identified two missense mutations in AIFM1 in these families: c.1352G>A (p.R451Q) in the AUNX1 family and c.1030C>T (p.L344F) in the second ANSD family. Reported herein is a renal anastomosing hemangioma which developed slowly in the past four years.... more Reported herein is a renal anastomosing hemangioma which developed slowly in the past four years. A 25-year-old woman was found a mass localized in the upper portion four years ago, and only slow progression in the past four years. She underwent a laparoscopic partial nephrectomy of right kidney and diagnosed as anastomosing hemangioma. On histology the vascular components of the tumor had an anastomosing pattern without well-definite margins. Immunohistochemically, only endothelial markers (CD31, CD34) were expressed on the vascular components of tumor cells. Smooth muscle actin (SMA), cytokeratin (CK), EMA and S-100 and so on were all negative in the epithelioid tumor cells. The patient was alive at 16 months after operation, without any evidence recurrence or metastasis. Anastomosing hemangioma is an extremely rare vascular neoplasm; only 23 cases were previously described until now.
