Ian Luna
Ian Luna is the author (or co-author) of several books on fashion design, architecture, urbanism and industrial design, mainly for Rizzoli and Thames & Hudson, including Louis Vuitton: Architecture and Interiors (2011, with Mohsen Mostafavi and Frederic Edelman); New New York: Architecture of A City (2003); Imagining Ground Zero (2004, with Suzanne Stephens and Ron Broadhurst); Retail: Architecture and Shopping (2005), On the Edge: Ten Architects from China (2007, with Yung Ho Chang and Thomas Tsang); Kohn Pedersen Fox Volume 3 (2002); Tokyolife: Art and Design (2008, with Toshiko Mori, Lauren A. Gould, Tom Mes, et al.); A Bathing Ape (2008, with Nigo and Akio Iida); Shigeru Ban: Paper in Architecture (2009, with Riichi Miyake) and Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion & Architecture (2009), for which he served as general editor and contributing essayist.
As editor, Mr. Luna previously worked on monographs on Tord Boontje (2006), Chip Kidd (2005), Paulo Mendes da Rocha (2007), the house of Lanvin (2007), the house of KENZO (2010), Maison Martin Margiela (2009), Marcel Wanders (2011), MUJI (2010), Tokujin Yoshioka (2010), Mika Ninagawa (2010), Atelier Bow-Wow (2010), Studio Job (2010, Job Smeets & Nynke Tynagel), Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby (2011), Sam Hecht (2011), KAWS (2010), Alice Temperley (2011), Fafi: The Carmine Vault (2012) and Pharrell Williams: Places and Spaces I've Seen, for which he was also a contributor.
His art direction and book design credits include the aforementioned A Bathing Ape Book (2008), Kanye West: Glow in the Dark (2009) and the complete work (so far) of Rick Owens (2011), for which he also served as general editor.
In order of publication, Mr. Luna's upcoming projects for 2013-2014 include monographs on Giambattista Valli, Moncler, Miles Aldridge, 2 x 4, Roger Vivier, Hiroshi Fujiwara/Fragment Design, Patricia Urquiola, and Sacai.
