Thirty-two respondents wereselected by consecutive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The intervention was given a warmfeet soak with aromatherapy, while the control only had a warm feet soak. Pulse oximetry was used tomeasure heart rate. Data were analyzed using a dependent t-test and independent t-test.Results: there was a statistically significant heart rate difference before and after in intervention (p<0.000),and also there was a statistically significant heart rate difference before and after in the control group(p<0.0005). In the study in the intervention group after the treatment, a warm feet soak with aromatherapywas decreased heart rate by an average of 78.69 (SD=14.63). Whereas in the control group after the treatmenta warm feet soak was also decreased heart rate by an average of...

Cancer can be treatedwith chemotherapy treatment which causes side effects like symptom distress. Symptom distress can beovercome by non-pharmacological, one of which is flexibility exercise.Object: to identify effect of flexibility exercise on symptom distress in cancer patients undergoingchemotherapy. Methods: The study design used a quasi-experimental design with an equivalent control group. There were40 respondents of cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy which were divided into two groups,20 intervention, and 20 control groups. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling. The data werecollected by the Symptom Distress Scale. The data were analyzed by a paired t-test in the intervention groupbefore and after the intervention and control group. Results: The results obtained were differences in symptoms distress in the intervention group after flexibilityexercise (t=13.24, p=0.00). This research was aimed at observing the effect of PMR on fatigue symptom ofpeople with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Quasi experimental Pretest-Posttest Design withcontrol group was used as the design of this research. The samples were collected by employingconsecutive sampling technique with 66 respondents consisting of 33 people in intervention group andthe other 33 people in control group. The fatigue symptoms observed in this research were measuredby using Piper Fatigue Scale. It was found from the results that there were some significant differenceson the fatigue symptoms before and after giving PMR to both the intervention group with t=43,57,p=<0,001; and the control group with t=1.73, p=0.093. Furthermore, another significant differencewas also found between ...

The main complaint of patients who experience with LBP is pain. Pain is complex, multidimensional, individual and subjective. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship beetween pain and disability of low back pain. The number of samples in this study were 40 respondent. the sampling technique used is nonprobability sampling with the sampling methods was consecutive sampling. The result of this study showed that there was a significant relationship between pain (α= 0,000, p<0,05) and r= 0,663, which means it has a strong relationship between pain and disability. The conclusion of this study is there is the significant relationship between pain and disability in patients with LBP. This study recommends further studies to investigate the relationship of pain duration with disability in patient with LBP but in a larger sample.

Stroke is the second most common cause of death after heart disease. Stroke sufferers cause disruption of physical mobility, so they need help to carry out daily activities, one of which is the implementation of oral care, which is still minimal. The study aimed to describe the perception of family caregivers in implementing oral care among stroke patients in Medan city areas. A qualitative with phenomenology approach was applied in this study. The study was conducted in the Health Centre of Medan Deli, in April-August 2018. Twelve participants were recruited using purposive sampling. Data collection used focus group discussion (FGD). We analyzed the data by using the thematic analysis. The results of the study found that four themes, namely: 1) Caregiver knowledge in the implementation of oral care for stroke patients at home is not good, 2) The process of implementing oral care by caregiver f...

Every breast cancer patient experiences side effects from various treatment treatments. This is because the therapy that each patient gets varies and also that cancer sufferers have different genetic backgrounds and different environments. Mastectomy in breast cancer patients can cause many patients to suffer from decreased joint mobility, lymphedema, and limitation in daily activities. These complaints can be overcome with arm exercises. Arm exercises are done to improve circulation and muscle strength and to prevent joint stiffness, preventing lymphedema from occurring. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of arm exercises on lymphedema prevention by looking at the value of arm measurements before the intervention and after intervention in the intervention and control groups. The research design...
