Methods: In this study we analyzed normal peritumoral tissues belonging to 56 patients, who were diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma. These tissues were fixed in paraformaldehyde and paraffinembedded. The immunohistochemical study was done on seriate slides following the hematoxylin and eosin staining, after diagnostic and grading. Correlations were made between beta-2-adrenoreceptors' expression in the normal peritumoral tissue and the clinical and histopathological parameters of the patients with colorectal cancer. Results: There are positive correlations between the expression of beta-2-adrenoreceptors and feminine gender, age group under 50 years, tumor size under 5cm, tumor invasion T3-4 and tumor metastasis in regional lymph nodes N≥2. By analyzing the expression of beta-2-adrenoreceptors in peritumoral tissue depending on tumor grading one can notice that there are positive correlations between beta-2-adrenoreceptors' expression and poorly differentiated colorectal adenocarcinoma. Conclusions: Positive correlation between this type of receptors in normal glandular epithelium, in the vicinity of tumor invasion front of colorectal neoplasm, and certain clinicopathological features suggests the involvement of tumor microenvironment, which expresses them, in the pathogenesis of this neoplasm.

Periodontitis is a infectious disease resulting in irreversible destruction of the tooth attachment apparatus. At present, periodontitis is one of the major reasons for adult tooth loss. The periodontal clinical examination determined the following diagnosis categories: chronic gingivitis and chronic periodontitis , all of them being modulated by the systemic disease. Aim of the study is to highlight possible correlations between periodontal status and diabetic clinical parameters characterizing patients diagnosed with type 1 diabetes(T1D). Material and methods This study was conducted on 62 patients. We analysed the general information of the patients and an oral examination for establishing the parodontal diagnosis. The probing depth has been established, number of teeth with pockets Larbert than 6mm and the plaque index Silness and Loe. Results Significant differences ...

OCTA is currently used for monitoring diabetic retinopathy; however, there is no current consensus on which OCTA parameter alterations predict the first clinical signs of diabetic retinopathy. The main challenge that young patients with T1D face during the course of the disease is that they can rapidly progress to the development of DR, especially during adolescence. Moreover, they also present an increased risk of rapid progression toward advanced stages of DR and vision loss compared to type 2 diabetes patients, indicating the importance of early diagnosis and intervention. The limitations of the currently used screening procedures that...

The anamnestic data and the clinical and radiological examinations initially suggested the diagnosis of acute interstitial pneumonia. During hospitalization, she repeatedly presented exacerbations with acute respiratory failure, but without fever. Paraclinic examinations revealed anemia, leukocytosis, inflammatory tests with highly increased values, low values of serum iron and serum calcium, hyperproteinemia with hypergammaglobulinemia, the values of IgE and IgG being highly increased. Repeated pulmonary x-rays-peribronchovascular interstitial thickening, at the level of peri-and right infrahilar area. Medullary puncture-increased percentage of eosinophils in several stages of maturity, approximately 20%, normal values for the other medullary series, without atypical cells; the fingertip hemogram showed anemia, leukocytosis, eosinophilia. He is the fourth born child, full term, with a birth weight of 3080 g, naturally fed for 5 months, followed by an incorrectly diversified feeding, weaned at one year, with a normal psychomotor development, without significant AHC until the age of one year and 2 months. From the age of 1 year and two months, he was repeatedly admitted to hospital for vomiting associated with hypotony, dehydration syndrome up to coma, in September 2014, when he was admitted to ICU, the salt wasting syndrome being infirmed. At admission, he had no fever, was pale, with an altered general state, dark circles around his eyes, dry lips, lazy abdominal skin fold, hypotonic, lethargic, cardio-respiratory balanced, supple abdomen, without meningeal symptoms, his weight being 9000 g. We noticed that, every time he was admitted, the general state suddenly worsened the moment he start...

Heredo-collateral antecedents – an aunt, related to her mother, with psoriasis. When admitted, the patient presented prominent non-pruriginous erythematous plaques, clearly marked and covered by thick, silvery-white scales, easily exfoliating, all over at the level of: scalp, earlobes, neck, torso, limbs, periungual, axillary and genital areas. The dermatological examination: psoriasis vulgaris in patches and plaques, a diagnosis also confirmed histopathologically. Using a local dermatologic treatment, the evolution was favorable, the patient initially presenting thick squamae, then, gradually, there occurred the psoriasis whitening. We presented this case since psoriasis is rarely met at this early age.

Sometimes, randomly finding an adenopathy might lead us to a severe disease. In the study we performed during the 11 years period, we noticed that infectious adenopathy is the most frequent since it was found in 694 cases (62,4%), followed by malignancy in 86 cases (7,7%) and collagen disease in 39 cases (3,5%). We also analized the onset and the course of the adenopathy, the frequency depending on the child′s age and the localization of the adenopathy.

Objective: Assessment of physical development in children with CHD and identification of significant factors that influence z scores. Methods: Anthropometric data have been registered in a group of children with CHD and z sc ore has been calculated for weight/age, height/age and weight/height. It has been used the Mann-Whitney st atistical test to compare the z scores. Results: Weight-for-age z-score was ≤ -2 for 75 children (44.38%), weight-for-size for 4 8 children (28.4%) and height-for-age for 72 children (42.6%). Comparing z scores we have identified a significant difference (p <0.01) between averages of height-for -age zscores and statistically highly significant (p <0.0 01) for weight-for-age z-scores between children born prema turely and eutrophic children. The presence of heart failu re (HF) influe...
