Self constructed questionnaire was used to find out parent-adolescent interaction and outcomes, categorized into 5 dimensions namely; Quality of interaction, Parental support, Kind of Treatment, Punishment and Reward and Criticism/Complaints between adolescents and their parents. A total sample of (N=167) adolescent students studying in Banasthali University were randomly selected in 2012-2013. They were administered Bell’s Adjustment Inventory (1934) which measured adjustment of an individual in 4 areas (Home, health, social and emotional). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test analysis and One-way ANOVA to find out the significance of difference between students with different levels of adjustment in various areas. Results revealed that the highly significant influence on home, health, social and emotional adjustment of adolescence students.

Methodology: Study was conducted in ten Medical colleges from three northern states of India (Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Chandigarh). 677 final year medical students were included in the study. The study was designed as a cross-sectional self- administered questionnaire-based survey. Data were analyzed based on Frequencies, percentage, weighted scores and Chi square test. The findings were tabulated and represented with the help of suitable diagrammatic and graphical presentation. Alcohol use and other risk-taking behaviours such as smoking, substance use and risky sexual behaviour emerge in adolescence and tend to cluster together. Heavy alcohol consumption in late adolescence appears to persist into adulthood and is associated with alcohol problems, including dependence, premature death and diminished work capacity. Early identification of adolescent risk factors may be helpful in preventing and/or attenuating risk. The sample consisted of 248 respondents, out of which 62 are males and 62 females, collected from two places Banasthali University Campus, Rajasthan and Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh, i.e. 124 from Bansthali and 124 from Narsinghpur district (mean age 50 to 65). Measure used was Shamshad-Jasbir Old-age Adjustment Inventory (SJOAI) created by Dr. Shamshad Hussain and Dr. Jasbir Kaur. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis. Result shows that there are significant positive correlations in home, emotional and financial adjustment. It shows that the male and female from these two different geological locations have correlation in different areas of adjustment (health, home, social, marital, emotional and financial).
