EnglishThis lecture proposes a reinterpretation of the poetics of Victor ou les enfants au pouvoir, by Roger Vitrac (premiered in Paris, Theâtre Alfred Jarry, 1928), from a review of the theatrical poetics of historical avant-garde, considering three procedural guidelines: a) the destructive conscious and programmatic violence on certain precedent theatrical structures; b) the recovery of of pre-modern or anti-modern theatrical structures; and c) the constructive foundation of a vast propositional field of innovative procedures. To go back on Vitrac’s work means to enjoy once more his artistic monumentality and also to remember a time of humanity that deeply believed in the possibility of changing society through art. The historical avant-garde was one of the most productive times of universal theater focused on the period 1896-1939 and it has generated strong productivity in post avant garde. In the analysis of these processes, the study of Roger Vitrac’s work is undeniable.
