We assume that lipid profile of serum in sarcoidosis differs from the control subjects lipid profile. Methods: Serum was collected from 14 patients with II stage of sarcoidosis and 9 control subjects. In our studies proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of lipid extracts was used. NMR spectra were collected using 400MHz spectrometer and standard one pulse sequence. Lipids were extracted from serum before analysis using modified Blight and Dyer method and dissolved in deuterated chloroform. Thirty four NMR signals of lipid compounds were analyzed. Partial least square discriminat analysis (PLS-DA) with Pareto scaling were used to analyzed lipid profile. Results: Univariate t-test analysis show significant differences in NMR signals of both esterified and free cholesterol and fatty acids (p Conclusion: Lipidomics is able to differentiate sarcoidosis patients and control subjects based on lipids profile of serum. Our investigation demonstrated that this technique can offer also insight into the lipid states of sarcoidosis.

In chronic bronchitis Salbutamol slightly decreased FEV1 values. Significant improvement of V50 and V75 was seen after Salbutamol inhalations in chronic bronchitis. This was observed more promeinently in comparison with the control group. Significant increase of V50 and V75 was seen in 14% of chronic bronchitics. The improvement in pattency of small airways following administration of bronchodilators can be an index for early identification of patients with chronic bronchitis, although this needs to be verified in prospective spirographic studies.

The aim of the survey was to learn about: the incidence of smoking among teachers and their habits in this area teachers’views on the harmfulness of smoking teachers’views on smoking habits among students and the importance of antismoking campaigns in schools.

Presence of airways injury adds to the need of fluid supplementation, increases risk of pulmonary complications. Due to many mechanisms involved in pathophysiology the treatment is complex. Among them the formation of fibrin casts inside airways constitutes a prominent element. The material residing in tracheobronchial tree causes ventilation-perfusion mismatch, complicates mechanical ventilation, provides a medium for bacterial growth. Many studies of animal models and single centre human studies investigated inhaled anticoagulation regimens employing heparin in management of inhalation injury. Simultaneously safety, especially in connection with possible bleeding risk, was the subject of research. The results suggest positive impact on treatment results, with low risk of side effects. This paper revise the available clinical data on inhaled heparin use in patients with burns.

Locomotor system is a place of every fifth case of extrapulmonary TB. Because of lack of characteristic symptoms, as well as rare co-occurrence of active lung lesions in radiological imaging, proper diagnosis is hard to establish. We present a case of patient on immunosuppressive therapy due to myositis, in whom we diagnosed musculoskeletal tuberculosis in form of involvement of tendon sheath and formation of synovial cyst.
