The Lumenis Pulse 120H® laser has a higher system energy, a higher energy per pulse and a higher repetition frequency in relation to other types of lasers, which offers advantages in the treatment of lithiasis. To analyze the results that we have obtained with the use of the Lumenis Pulse120H® laser in patients treated by intrarenal retrograde surgery (RIRS). As secondary objectives there are: the study of the demographic variables of the patients, the characteristics of the stones and the complications associated with the procedure. An observational, retrospective study of the first 26 patients treated by RIRS and Lumenis Pulse 120H® laser has been performed in our Service between August 2018 and February 2019. The size of the lithiasis was measured on the simple radiography and the CT, in addition, the volume of the lithiasis was calculated. For the realization of RIRS, 8.5Fr digital flexible uret...

Selected courses in one semester of the curricula of the student career are grouped and create a task force is created to achieve a final project. Topics covered in this semester are: sensors and actuators, microcontrollers architecture, analog electronic design, and social entrepreneurship. The proposed final project implements the knowledge of each course and incorporates some specific elements of the IoT environment. The final project is always supervised by the professors of the semester and by a guest company that collaborates in the observations of details in the implementation of the final product during the design and development time. The guest company designates two or three specific engineers in their area of information technology or logistics to join the students for three specific weeks of the semester. The results observed in the application of this methodology shows a high impact in the understanding of the theory and improvement in the circuit design capabilities from the conceptual description to final product.

Despite the application of various learning strategies, the historical pass rate does not exceed 43%. To solve this problem, we have relied on visual programming languages, specifically Scratch. Scratch is an open source software to learn programming that has a strong assumption of the benefits of community work. A quasi-experiment conducted with 74 undergraduate students during the first semester of CS showed that: (1) Both groups (control and experimental) are homogeneous in terms of their demographic characteristics, previous academic performance and motivation (expectations) concerning the course; (2) Scratch is strongly accepted by students in the experimental group and concerning the learning process, both groups showed similar levels o...

In this context, the entire world is looking forward to produce electricity by the means of -mainly- solar and wind energy, but also searching for other clean alternatives. This electricity may be used to transport people into and out of the cities, helping to reduce pollution gases that every day saturates big towns. In fact, it is expected for electromobility to be the most important way to transport people by 2050, and therefore, the design and development of proper control algorithms for electric machines become imperative in order to improve driving and safety in modern powertrains. This paper studies and reviews some of the most important works, with a special mention about, regenerative braking, grip improvement, and vectorial torque control considering the entire car dynamics. As results, this document shows the importance of proper electric powertrain control such as MPC (model predictive control) which helps with critical safety decisions that make the car stable, DTC (direct torque control) which labor is to ensure the right amount of torque is produced by the power unit in order to comply with the decisions made by the MPC or the Fuzzy Logic Controllers. All these control strategies make cars even more flexible, safe and robust than traditional combustion ones.

However, malignant transformation of a simple renal cyst is exceptional. Likewise, the treatment to be carried out, in these rare cases, is controversial, with respect to opting for radical renal surgery. METHODS: We present the case of a patient with a solid nodule in a large cyst. Complete removal of the cyst was performed by transperitoneal laparoscopic technique. The histopathological study of the surgical piece revealed the existence of a cyst with clear renal cell carcinoma with nucleolar grade 2. The clinical evolution has been satisfactory, performing a minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic cyst excision). DISCUSSION: Although it is considered that surgical treatment of choice is radical surgery in these cases, we believe that nephron sparing surgery may represent a therapeutic option, taking into account the young age of our patient. A histogenetic hypothesis is discussed to explain...

The paper reviews similar initiatives, like Hairball, and investigates the literature with proposals for assessment of Scratch projects that we have studied and remixed in order to develop the Computational Thinking analysis. Then it introduces the various aspects that Dr. Scratch takes into consideration to compute a Computational Thinking score for a Scratch project and presents some preliminary findings of the analysis of over 100 investigated Scratch projects. Finally, future directions and limitations are presented and discussed.
