Erythromycin was used as standard antibacterial agent.The methanol extract was diluted into different concentration (1,2, 4, 6, 8, 10 mg/l00 μl) with DMSO. The results of the study revealed that, the Pasuru exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The presence of these bioactive constituents have been linked to the antimicrobial activity of the plant material.

F., Bahinai racemosa L ., Biophytum sensitivum DC., Bauhinia variegata L., Cardiospermum halicabum L., Cissampelos pareira L.,Crataeva religiosa Forst.,, Holarrhena antidysenterica L., Leucas aspera L Piper nigrum L.,Plumbago zeylanica L., Psoralea corylifolia L., Lecucas aspera . The present paper aimed to study the floristic diversity of Gani Reserve forest of Kurnool distri... more The present paper aimed to study the floristic diversity of Gani Reserve forest of Kurnool district situated in the Eastern ghats of Andhra Pradesh, India. A total of 111 species (39 trees, 38 shrubs, 34 herbs) belonging to 47 families were recorded. Among families, Sterculiaceae (11 species), Malvaceae (8 species), Rubiaceae (6 species), Asteraceae (5 species) were most dominat families. 111 medicinal plants have been documented with their uses for the cure of more than 30 diseases and some of these are diabetes, jaundice, diarrhoea, dysentery, bronchitis, rheumatism, irregular menstruation, urinary problems and bone fracture, Cancer, Wounds. Bark of Acacia leucophloea used in the preparation of Arrack (distilled alcoholic drink). The roots of Hemidesmus indicus are used in the preparation of nanari a coolent during summer. The nature is true wealth of man and has many mysteries in its credit for every decease of man there is cure in this beautiful and wonderful nature.

An Ethnobotanical survey medicinal Plants used for leucoderma by Sugali tribes of Yerramalais forest of Kurnool district was carried out during 2011-2012. Twenty one plant species belonging to 21 genera and 15 families were found to be used specifically in the treatment of Leucoderma. Sugali tribal community of Eastern Ghats is rich in ethno-biological knowledge. The present study is emphasized that there is an urgent need to record the data available with the tribes other wise the human beings has to loose vital traditional medicinal knowledge. Scientific investigations through the evaluation of plants for their biological activity need to be carried out.

An ehnobotanical survey was carried out among the Sugali tribals of Yerramalai forest of Eastern Ghats for wound healing herbs during the December 2008 to January 2010. A total of 28 species of ethnomedicianal plants belonging to 27 genera and 22 families were reported with the help of standard questionnaires among the Sugali tribal informants between the age 26-82. The study shows a high degree of ethnobatanical novelty and the use of plants among the Sugali tribals reflects the revival of interest in traditional medicine The herbal medicinal practices adopted by traditional healers to cure of wounds, cuts and burns occurring in tribal pockets are presented in this paper. Traditional use of medicines is recognized as a way to learn about potential future medicines
