Here we propose a didactic approach to the translation of literary works prioritizing student's self-reliance and ability to manage the process. The educational experience is based in group-learning of specific problem solving: the translation and sharing of a selection of titles from French and francophone works coming from all periods and latitudes, whether already translated or not, and based on different natures and degrees of difficulty.

In continental Spain or in the New Spain no one can be considered a wise man while he doesn't have his "Melanges" (1st edition in four volumes in 1759, and 1st edition of volume 5 in 1767). But he is particularly respected, or blamed, as a mathematician and as co-director of the Encyclopedia. His "Systeme figure des connaissances humaines" makes the "Discours preliminaire" indispensable, and turns his author, within the field of progressists, into the cartographer of the fields of knowledge and into the founder of the modern knowledge, liberated, at last, of metaphysics.

This immersive novel showcases a young man initiation story as a rake’s progress. Our transartistic and transtextual approach will allow us to explain the Del Amo storyworld and founts. We focus, in particular, on the daily life in Paris in 1760 (Paris, professions, money, food, cafés, theaters…), in some clichés of the 18th century (justice, sexuality, religion, ‘libertinage’…), the symbolic world of Del Amo and his onomastic exploration. We expose this approach in order to prove that this novel is a tribute to the 18th century but also to evidence that is a masterpiece of the 21th century.
